Default England v USA

At Wembley this wed is a 'friendly' soccer match between the 2 countries. Just thought that I'd let you know that England don't do friendlies the way other countries do. So it'll be serious stuff for the Yanks. Seemingly, you are sending over a 'B' team as well. Not so sure about that. The only thing in your favour is that it is the end of the season for English players so they will have one eye on the beaches of Spain, Greece or wherever they will be holidaying.
I, for one, will be supporting the visitors!

It's mostly an A squad to be honest, we will have most of our European based players in the match. Plus we are sending the likes of Donovan over as well. So I don't see this as a B squad more like an A- squad.

A golden cap for goldenballs to celebrate his 100th start for the English at the start of the game. About 70k inside Wembley. 1,300 USA fans at least over for the game, plus those living in England.

HT England 1 USA 0.
Probably deserved. Yanks ok at the back, neat in the midfield but far to soft up front. In the last 15mins, England taking command of the game. Missed a couple of chances. Not much to talk about regarding American attacks on the English goal. I don't think we'll see any difference in the 2nd half.
I don't agree with the English commentator who said the Yanks are, at best, a bunch of 'spoilers'. Then again, I have previous form for not agreeing with English soccer commentators.
C'mon the Yanks!!!

Full time, England 2 USA 0.
Americans had a decent 15min period late in the 2nd half, and had a couple of half chances. Overall, an easy English win.

Yeah England really dominated the play, the Clark/Bradley combo just doesn't work, Josh Wolff is beyond useless and if EJ had half the determination of McBride he'd be worth all that Fulham paid for him. Adu looked solid and in the absence of Donovan really needed to be starting. Altidore better be ready by 2010 or we will have no true dangerous striker for the WC assuming we qualify. Becks got such a huge ovation during the lineup announcements and that was like 45 minutes before kickoff, love him or not, he still brings major star appeal back in Wembley.

England's talent should dictate they put in miles better performances than they actualy do. A bit like Spain really, so much talent and yet nothing.

Where I am we dont seem to care a whole lot for the national side but the fact I live, breathe, ***** and drink "soccer" makes me watch England and I'm always dissapointed with the standard.
