They're all right. Nobody too annoying yet. The Chargers board is just a cesspool not worth wading through. I think we've got some earnest people who just want to talk football for the most part.

The difference is that Brady calmly calls audibles while Manning flaps like a chicken, barks 11 code words, and makes sure every camera in the stadium has documented his once-in-a-generation (and patented, I believe) ability to see a defensive formation and change the play. Both have the same effect, but Manning transcends measurable human intellect while Brady merely chooses a different play.

If that happened again I might die of shock. I just don't think turnovers are going to be an issue for either team. Any more than 1 either way, and I would be very surprised.

this year , brady's int ratio is so far down that we definitely can't count on him making bad throws, especially how he played against the jags.
I think 5 of the 8 INTs were on tipped passes. With the exception of the last 3 or 4 games of the regular season, and despite what you may have heard from certain "experts"; Brady isn't "locked" on Randy Moss, now that the records are out of the way. Last week was a great example. The Jaguars played a VERY deep Cover 2 and essentially took Moss out of the game. Brady managed to complete 25 of his 26 completions to other people. Brady played well, but the numbers kind of bear out something "extraordinary". He's played much better at times this season, IMO.

Teams with dynamic front fours have been able to create pressure; outside of that (as you saw last week), Brady can make himself a sandwich in the pocket most of the time.

This is an interesting point, because we all know the Patriots don't look PAST anyone; I'd be really surprised if there was much "respect". At least, I don't get that sense, maybe I'm reading it wrong.

That's for history to decide. As a fan, I just want a Super Bowl. I don't care much about the Win/Loss record (Although it would be nice if Shula and Mercury Morris had nothing to say ever again)

Take a look at what they did to the #2 rushing offense last week. 80 yards for Taylor and Drew. Garrard impressed the hell out of me. Obviously, the gameplan was to "Make Garrard beat us", and he was really up to the challenge. A lesser QB, and that game would have been a blowout. I think the good news is; even if Rivers and Tomlinson are, in fact, out for the game: Volek and Turner are excellent backups and, not only do you lose little talent-wise; but they're both similar to the players they're replacing in style, so the disruption to the offense will be minimal. It's also good news for the Patriots, because they don't have to change their preparation much.

kinda funny
This is why most of us (myself included) should let the games actually play out first. Expectations (especially high ones) suck. We're lucky and spoiled up here to have a team that has met or exceeded those expectations for the last handful of years, but it certainly wasn't THAT long ago that the expectations were set for "8-8".

I think this will be the key to the game. The Patriots are the best in the league in the Red Zone, and the Chargers have indeed stepped up their play there. Who's gonna blink? What defense will the Chargers throw out there when the Patriots go spread at the 8-yard line? That's why we watch

Although McCree may have played the game of his life last week. I dunno what Kotrell will come up with, but I'd be surprised if it involved a safety being within 20 yards of the line of scrimmage.

Objective reason? It has to be steel will. Physically we match up with any team in the NFL. Experience is a whole other matter. We've been beat on, derided, called losers, called weak, broken legs and knees and yet we're in the AFCCG. Cornered animals are dangerous.

If there's any weakness to the Pats, it's the miscues the defense has made these past couple of games. The problem is that you haven't been very consistent with the miscues. LOL. The offense is a juggernaut, and nature seems to be the only thing that will stop it. I think the only way a team could beat you guys is by playing physical man on the wideouts with a blitz to confuse Brady. Impossible to do all day long. I buy the theory that you give up the short ball till a mistake is made, but Brady doesn't seem to make mistakes. If the Chargers win, it'll be like the Colts game. Don't give up big plays, keep everything in front of you till we're in the red zone, and then switch to a physical man blitz/zone blitz. Create havoc. We cover the red zone well and that's our strong suit. But again, Brady and BB, it's not gonna be easy.

Offensively, the pass game needs to attack your safeties. Run, run, and run some more. Even if it doesn't work great in the 1st half. Let's face it, you guys are getting long in the tooth down the middle of the d. 4th quarters are not going to get easier. Tire the d out with the run, and hope the game isn't 40-10 going into the 4th. LOL.

As far as which QB:
Rivers over Volek every day of the week.

When it comes to Brady, he's obviously the better QB. No doubt about it. I'd still rather have Rivers. No slight to Brady, but Rivers is a gamer and he's fun as hell to watch. He doesn't have the arm Brady has. He doesn't have the experience, but Rivers is as much a student of the game as the top 3 QBs. He talks football all year long with his pops. He talks all year long with the coaches and players, and lives in the film room. Compare his early games last year, to his game against NE last year. And compare this years NE game to the Colts game. He's learning the position and improving. Just like all young QBs, it takes time.

And he talks to everyone when it's game time. I love that ****. He ****-talks in the weight room, guys. He ain't no professional, he's a football player. I'd take that over any body else. Imagine if you were at the game, and after yelling out, "We want a pitcher, not a belly itcher." and the dude walks off the mound and starts talkin' **** with you...what more would you want?!? It's a game. It's not like they're Marines raiding a home in Afghanistan, not knowing if they will live another 5 minutes. Go Chargers! Go Marines!

Marcus McNeil started swaying and dancing to the music being played during the TV timeout.
"That's how it's supposed to be," McNeill said. "It doesn't make no sense to be at crunch time and your butthole is all tight."

aside from the hit on wayne at the end, mccree sucked last game, so did our 3rd cb, florence

hart even looked pretty stupid on that 1st td given up to dallas clark

after cro, jammer and weddle, i'm very concerned about the quality of our dbs

hart gets alot of ints but he can be juked badly, same goes for florence, mccree is just an enigma, he makes plays but sometimes he's just so stupid it's maddening

McCree and Hart tend to be out of position quite a bit. Lately they've been playing better, but still suck something mean. It's the football god's vengeance for letting go of Harrison and Seau too early.

harrison was injured and NE turned him around in a way we couldn't

as for seau, IMO he hasn't been really good since 2 years before we traded him to miami

still serviceable i guess, just not the seau he was when he was going to pro bowls for us

i'll be happy for him if he wins a ring, he deserves one

I can't go into depthI'm at work and getting ready to go home. But I beleive overall SD has as much talent as any team in the league, but I still don't think SD will win.
On offense the pats will spread it out and take any kind of pass sd will give them wheather its dink and dunk, or verticle. You don't have the back field personel to cover consistanly,I think Cromartie may be able to take Moss away. But in the end you're D is going to get tired chasing those recievers around all day.
The Pats line is good enough to keep Brady clean most of the time,on the other hand our front seven should be able to do what Indy couldn't put pressure on you're QB. And if that happens I think it will rattle Rivers into making mistakes. They'll make an effert to slow down LT,and make Rivers beat them,I don't think he can yet. You're recievers are better thatn before but still not good enough. Oh yeah I'm sure BB will come up with a lot of scheams Rivers has never seen before and they'll change from play to play to confuse him. Well I have to get moving talk latter.
