I'm in Sydney - huge Pats fan.
I can tell you that NFL isn't very popular in Australia. People often disregard it because with our more popular sports (Rugby Union, Rugby League, Australian Rules), the players don't wear helmet and pads (eg the saying is that "Americans are pussies").
NFL will only get a mention on TV or in the newspaper if an Australian player (usually a punter) is playing. McBriar at the Cowboys was a big hits as was the Cardinals (and former Jets) punter, Ben Graham (have a look:

We get up to 5 games live, most of them are NFC East games as most are televised on Fox Sports here (so we get the Fox games from the states). We get Pats games rarely although when the Pats are playing 8pm on Sunday or MNF we get the games. No other games are shown on delayed coverage.
To be honest, the NFL could get bigger here, but it is hardly a market that the NFL would care about. I've got the opportunity to go to the Pats game in London in October (a cousin of mine works for the NFL Network and has free tickets) but unfortunately I have uni (college) exams.
