Great job! This would make a good sticky, and you could keep updating it throughout the season.

Just a couple points... Not sure I would label Sanders or Hobbs, given his injury status, "above average" at this point. These are obviously minor quibbles, and the scores are totally subjective. As a concept it is useful and fun to look at.

Moss only gets a score of 9? He's the best WR in the NFL...
BTW I noticed that you only have 2 guys on our entire roster ranked as at least pro bowl rating when I think the Pats sent 8 guys to the pro bowl last year? LOL at Alexander slotted as starting ILB, that's Mayo's spot.

Analysis - Very solid across the board at all starting positions, serious unknowns at the most backup positions. The team is a top contender for a title run but is not as dominant as the 2007 team.

Based on Miguel's roster page as of 5/10/08

Known bugs
- the final two TEs (Stupar & DeVree) were placed in as the 3rd and 4th FBs because I ran out of room at TE (only 4 slots per position)
A few things. I think that you are unfairly harsh on guys like Hochstein and Yates. They are average players.

Also, since when is Mike Richardson a SS? He's a CB in every sense of the word.

Also, how is it that you mark Izzo as average when he sucks as a back-up LB and really is only a special teams maven, but then you kill Alexander, Woods, and Andrews for being special teams players?

Also, how is it that you have Hobson as below average? The guy was a very solid player for the Jets. To say that Crable is above him on the depth chart is being a tad presumtuous on your part. Also, its more likely that Hobson will be at ILB and not OLB for the Pats.

Step 1 - Download file.
Step 2 - Update as you like.
Step 3 - Cram it up your obnoxious ass.

In any order you like.

I have no plans to update the file, I am checking out until August. In general the roster is unlikely to change very much now that the draft is over. The file was posted as part of the public domain. Hopefully people use it and improve it, it is a pretty weak model at this point.

See you all at training camp.

WOW.. You are so intelligent.. I mean, you really showed me. YEAH.. NOT

If you don't like people putting up comments, don't post.

All I did was call into question your method for analysis which seemed to be all over the place and not consistent.

There was nothing obnoxious about my post. Sorry that you are such an ass that you thought so.

Looking at the tape of the Pats games, I think a case can be made that Izzo is slowing down and I'm not sure he still qualifies as a ST demon. (Still above average, just not a demon any more) He got blown up on a couple of returns that I don't think he would have been a couple of years ago.

Great Tool.
Nice Job.
Team looks great...
My only thoughts on this is Vrabel higher and Heath Evans LOWER.
