Default My Mock draft for the Patriots 8 picks

I am not considering the strong chance that New England will trade down for extra picks so barring no moves right now (which is unlikely) here is my take on possibilities the Patriots go by way of the draft......

Round 1 - Dominique Rodgers Cromartie CB (Tenn St.)
Maybe not the best CB in this draft but I think BB once again does the unexpected and takes the kid from the tiny school.

Round 2 - Jerod Mayo LB (Tennessee)
Once again the Patriots go to Tennessee and this time to the big school in the state and pick what appears to be an outstanding future pro.

Round 3 - Tyvon Branch CB (Connecticut)
Picks up an area kid who has some very nice skills and I think Cornerback will be on the top of the early selections this year despite what many think.

Round 3 -Cory Boyd HB (South Carolina)
The team needs to find Kevin Faulk's future replacement and I think this guy may be a good fit and maybe even give Evans some good competition at HB

Round 4 - Fred Davis TE (USC)
The tight end position is a little weak and from what I hear Davis may be a decent blocker and what the team needs in a TE since the departure of Graham last year

Round 5 - Adam Kraus OG (Michigan)
From what I hear he has good hands and is very quick,Just the type of guy that might help fix the erratic right side of the line.

Round 6 - Mike Dragosavich P (North Dakota State)
Chris Hanson is NOT the guy I would like to see as the punter on this years team and I think this guy in the late rounds may be a good choice.

Round 7 - Bryan Kehl LB (BYU)
Bryan is a versatile player who can play defensive end or linebacker - Just the type of guy BB loves to have on his team and if he is still available in round 7 its a good choice for value.

I like picks 2 and 3, not sold on Cromartie, yet. Don't like drafting a RB that high and Davis is less than average blocker. If Kehl is available then, I guess he's a good choice. Also, I thought we'd be looking at more help along the line? Don't care too much about drafting a punter. We should really think back about getting Baugher, weren't the charges dropped in his case?

Not crazy about the first pick but can understand it.

Mayo i would like to have.

Lots of people rave about Tyvon but i just dont see it. Would rather go with a Terrell Thomas or Chevis Jackson. Still not a bad choice.

Dont know too much about Boyd but i would be interested in seeing who was still available here at DE/ILB/OLB we could do better than a RB and we dont really need the extra RB's at the moment.

If Fred Davis is there and they like him then great. Welcome aboard even with all of your I HEART JESUS stuff written on your eye black.

Dont know to much about this Guard

LOVE DRAGO!

I dont think theres anyway Kehl is this late in the draft and if he is then there must be some serious problems.

Overall i like your draft but im not too crazy with RB at 4.

Mayo at 62? Fred Davis in the 4th? That would be amazing. Throw in Godfrey in the 3rd and you have me sold.

I would be rip-sh it pissed with that draft. Why draft a CB that high? We just let arguably a top 3 CB walk out the door. It makes no sense to draft a CB at 7.

Mayo at 62? He won't make it past the first round. DRC has been discussed before. I believe that is highly unlikely at seven as well.

I think Drago is the only realistic pick in that whole mock.

Find it hard to believe that we go for CB that high in the draft.

A coverted DE in the 2nd round possible but not a natural LB.

Don't like the UConn kid - too small.

How about this:
7 OLB - Vernon Gholston - Ohio State
62 OLB - Darrell Robertson - Georgia Tech
69 RB - Matt Forte - Tulane
94 NT - Red Bryant - Texas A&M
128 G - Chil Rachel - USC
165 CB - Orlando Scandrick - Boise State
199 CB - Zackary Bowman - Nebraska
239 LT - James Blair - Western Michigan

Nothing personal but I would not be happy with that draft.
