NFL Draft top 100 Prospects
1. Matt Ryan - QB - 6'4" 220 lbs. - Boston College This savvy, strong-armed prospect retains his top ranking in this talented class. There is a good chance he can be the No. 1 selection in April. 2. Chris Long - DE - 6'5" 285 lbs. - Virginia A relentless defender, this athletic "tweener" had an impact workout at the NFL Combine. Long is the safest selection in this draft class. 3. Glenn Dorsey - DT - 6'2" 300 lbs. - LSU Dorsey is an explosive tackle who will give his club a dominant and versatile inside presence. 4. Jake Long - OT - 6'7" 320 lbs. - Michigan Long is a physical left tackle. He has the skills and college experience to start as a rookie. His NFL Combine workout guaranteed him a top-10 selection. 5. * Vernon Gholston - DE - 6'4" 260 lbs. - Ohio State This athletic end is a force on the outside, where he has played both up and down. He has the burst off the edge to be a top-flight NFL sack artist. The junior "tweener" had a very strong NFL Combine workout. 6. Sedrick Ellis - DT - 6'2" 295 lbs. - USC Ellis is a relentless inside force who has impressed at every stage of the scouting process. 7. * Darren McFadden - RB - 6'1" 220 lbs. - Arkansas This fast junior has the all-around skills to be an impact player early is his career. McFadden had a strong workout at the NFL Combine. 8. Leodis McKelvin - CB - 5'11" 190 lbs. - Troy McKelvin is a quick cover man and return specialist. He was impressive at both the Senior Bowl and NFL Combine, and ranks as the top defensive back in this class. 9. Keith Rivers - LB - 6'3" 220 lbs. - USC Rivers is an athletic outside linebacker who has the speed, instincts and skills to start early in his pro career. 10. Mike Jenkins - CB - 5'10" 200 lbs. - South Florida This athletic corner finished an impressive season and postseason with a strong NFL Combine workout. 11. * Ryan Clady - OT - 6'6" 310 lbs. - Boise State Clady is a nimble left tackle who had a dominant WAC career. Clady had a strong pro day after sitting out the NFL Combine. 12. * Rashard Mendenhall - RB - 5'11" 215 lbs. - Illinois Mendenhall is a rugged back who has the ability to be a workhorse feature back in the NFL. 13. * Derrick Harvey - DE - 6'4" 245 lbs. - Florida Harvey is an explosive pass rusher off the edge. He has the burst to make game-changing plays from the outside and puts pressure on the passer. 14. Chris Williams - OT - 6'5" 310 lbs. - Vanderbilt Williams is a big, mobile left tackle who has developed nicely. Williams graded out high against top SEC talent. He solidified a spot in the first round with a strong postseason. 15. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie - CB - 6'1" 185 lbs. - Tennessee State This athletic corner has been a shutdown cover man, but against lesser competition. He answered questions about his ability when he starred during Senior Bowl week. 16. Brian Brohm - QB - 6'4" 225 lbs. - Louisville This pocket passer needs a strong pro day (March 24) throwing the ball to solidify a first-round grade. 17. Antoine Cason -CB - 6'1" 185 lbs. - Arizona This rugged corner has good coverage skills and ball skills. He answered all the key questions with a strong workout at the NFL Combine. 18. * Phillip Merling - DE - 6'5" 270 lbs.- Clemson This junior has been a big-play performer over his short career. However, he is now battling injury concerns. His stock could fall because of the uncertainty. 19. * Calais Campbell - DE - 6'7" 280 lbs. - Miami This huge defensive end has the ability to become an elite NFL player. He should be a first-round pick after a good effort at the NFL Combine. 20. Jeff Otah - OT - 6'6" 320 lbs. - Pittsburgh Otah is a huge prospect who has very good footwork and the highlight film to impress scouts. However, he failed to impress at the NFL Combine. 21. * DeSean Jackson - WR - 5'11" 170 lbs. - California Jackson is an all-purpose playmaker. He can be an impact performer as a receiver or return specialist. He had a strong workout at the NFL Combine and his pro day. 22. Quentin Groves - DE - 6'4" 255 lbs. - Auburn This athletic outside pass rusher struggled with injuries in 2007 after a strong junior season. He impressed further at the NFL Combine to move into the first round. 23. * Kenny Phillips - FS - 6'1" 205 lbs. - Miami Phillips is a fluid defender with the skills to shine in the pro game. However, his average 2007 season and NFL Combine performance make him a first-round bubble prospect. 24. * Branden Albert - OG - 6'6" 335 lbs. - Virginia This huge junior guard has the talent to play well on the inside. He is quickly moving up several draft boards after a big NFL Combine performance and some late scouting work. 25. * Malcolm Kelly - WR - 6'3" 210 lbs. - Oklahoma This big, athletic prospect flashed playmaking ability over his career. He could become a No. 1 option in an NFL offense. 26. Kentwan Balmer - DT - 6'5" 290 lbs. - North Carolina Balmer has shown fine production for the Tar Heels. His triangle numbers (height, weight, speed) allowed him to impress further in the postseason and solidify his first-round grade. 27. * Jonathan Stewart - RB - 5'11" 235 lbs. - Oregon This explosive back faces a difficult rehab following March toe surgery that puts his draft status in question. When healthy, he has the size to be a powerful inside runner with the speed to break the big play. 28. * Curtis Lofton - LB - 6' 240 lbs. - Oklahoma This explosive junior was a dominant performer in the Big 12 this season. With some development, he could be a premier pro prospect. 29. Limas Sweed - WR - 6'4" 220 lbs. - Texas This physical wideout looks for a big Texas pro day (March 19) after only an average NFL Combine performance following an injury-marred final season. 30. * Felix Jones - RB - 5'10" 200 lbs. - Arkansas This fast all-purpose performer had a good workout at the NFL Combine, which may place him in the first round of the draft. 31. * Brandon Flowers - CB - 5'9" 190 lbs. - Virginia Tech Flowers is a quick, tough corner who has good coverage skills. He has the technique and playmaking ability to match up with the best receivers. However, he needs a big pro day to recover from a very average NFL Combine performance. 32. Dan Connor - LB - 6'2" 235 lbs. - Penn State This rugged inside linebacker has the physical talent, intangibles and production to become a starter. Connor is NFL-ready after playing at a high level in the Big Ten. 33. Early Doucet - WR - 6' 200 lbs. - LSU 34. * Aqib Talib - CB - 6'1" 200 lbs. - Kansas 35. * James Hardy - WR - 6'5" 215 lbs. - Indiana 36. * Erin Henderson - LB - 6'2" 235 lbs. - Maryland 37. * Mario Manningham - WR - 6' 180 lbs. - Michigan 38. * Justin King - CB - 5'11"185 lbs. - Penn State 39. * Jerod Mayo - LB - 6'2" 230 lbs. - Tennessee 40. * Reggie Smith - CB - 6' 200 lbs. - Oklahoma 41. Player ranking Lists Question for the mods: Is it o.k. if we post entire lists (rankings) as Seb just did, or do we have to settle for posting just the link? Some of these rankings have informative capsules...and if viewed, they may make for interesting conversation (debate). Thoughts?
