OK, on to pick No. 97.

Louis Delmas
Brian Robiskie

I figure it'll be Cadogan or Levitre since they've dropped as I expected. Here are the best available according to the rankings on draftcountdown.com and profootballweekly.com.

Re: Cadogan, Levitre, other?
Andre Brown or Chip Vaughn(can never have enough safeties) would be my pick.
Looking ahead to round 4 hopefully Jason Phillips or Scott McKillop will be there.

Re: Cadogan, Levitre, other?
As Bakes mentioned, Andre Brown and Chip Vaughn would be solid. But James Casey would be a steal at 97. NFP gave him to us at 89, and I think he would be decent value at 58. Most versatile offensive player in the draft, and the replacement for Ben Watson after this year as our #1 TE.

Re: Cadogan, Levitre, other?
I'm dead set against taking a TE lol it must be the Felger in me. Then again I recall saying we should take Shawn Nelson with the previous pick in this guys mock.

But if we get a TE/FB, don't we want one who can block. I don't think Casey was ever asked to block at Rice.

Re: Cadogan, Levitre, other?
I think you best bet is to trade down a bit
I like the Chip Vaughn pick but Gerald Cadogan might get some consideration at this spot. He has long arms and size to play OT and is very smart so I might pull the trigger at DB or OL on this one.

We have a classic blocking TE in Chris Baker. Casey is more of an H-back type, though he did play some at fullback at Rice and isn't inept as a blocker. I'm not sure I see us keeping Ben Watson after his contract is up at the end of this year, and Casey would be a much more reliable pass catching threat.

I think it was the Texans beat writer for the Houston Chronicle who mentioned interviewing Casey and being told how he'd been put through a number of blocking drills at his Pro Day, a novel experience for him.
