Thinking about the OL and S options, I think I'm happier with Barwin/Delmas/Meredith than I am with Barwin/Beatty/one of the other safeties. And Delmas is more likely to last to #34 than Beatty.

Of course I don't think English falls out of the 1st

but he definitely won't fall to #58 with Miami and Baltimore just ahead of us.

All this talk of Meredith recently had me go looking thru my Sporting News Draft Guide. lol Now granted it's a bit outdated, but they have him rated in the 6th round and yet the last line in their analysis states "won't last long, regardless of where he lines up".

I said if English falls to 47, not to 58 - 47 is unlikely, but not impossible.

Meredith is generally considered the #7 OT in this draft, after JSmith/Monroe/ASmith/Oher/Beatty/Britton. He's pretty much considered solid 2nd round value on every board that I've seen.

I know. But just the idea of "considering it" at 47 seems foolish to me. I couldn't have that card up fast enough.

I hadn't heard much of any talk about him up until now, but I do believe the Sporting News recognizes that he'll be going much higher than they have him projected.

I like Meredith with one of those 2nd Rd picks. He's versatile, he can play OG or OT. At South Carolina he started started a total of 38 games, 8 at RG, 11 at RT and 19 at LT. Meredith played very well in both running game and passing game at senior bowl. Good size and long arms to push the rush on the edge. I would be happy with him at 47-58 area.

I would like Meredith with pick 58. He seems like a pretty good OT prospect with upside to potentially be an LT at the pro level.
