Absolutely. The guy was all world. Big, fast, smart CB.

As a cancer patient, he's a spokesperson in the campaign against prostrate (sic) cancer.

Curtis helped me to learn and embrace the love-the-man-hate-the-laundry approach. I do hope, though, that this affords a torch-passing opportunity for one "Riddler"

"Running back Curtis Martin went into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a New York Jet, as one would expect, considering he played eight of his 11 seasons with them. But today, he returns to Foxborough as one of the Patriots' honorary captains. Martin's presence is tied to the Patriots' celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Any disagreement that Martin is "The Greatest Patriot Who Got Away?"

Football players don't "go in" as a Jet or Patriot like they do in baseball. Players go in and all teams they played for are listed.

It's about the Hall of Fame, which kind of limits the the Patriots to 5 players, saying Law or Milloy are more worthy doesn't make much sense seeing they're not in the HOF. And didn't the both leave for the same reason Martin did.

The Pats were being run like a three ring circus, they low him lowballed him, and he followed his father figure coach for considerable more money. Really a no brainer. Your anger should not be directed at him but rather the incompetents running the team at the time.

And Haynes was the greatest who got away.

Dont you mean Parcells?

Every team he left, the salary cap was always in shambles. Parcells passed out money like candy to "his guys." Law got a 50 mil contract and so did Milloy IIRC.
Not from Parcells.

And I don't understand the Martin thing but oh well. It is weird that with only 3 years here and is 4th all time in rushing yards in Pats history.

BTW the Sullivans letting Haynes leave after B Dreith in 76, and then Haynes wins rings with the Raiders........

Just more reasons to hate the Raiders and mock the Sullivan's.

Martin hasn't been associated with the Patriots for years and years. He's a New Jersey Green Bean in terms of identity.

Do not like this one at all. Martin is a Jet. Period. By all accounts a good dude but he left us in a jam when he bolted to the Rats. There are far better former Patriots choices out there for this kind of thing.

This an odd choice. Nothing against Martin. He seems like a good guy. I just think that there are other ex players who would have been a better choice.
