It would be in his best interest to consider this post Brady, as his success can easily be defined because of Brady... after the Denver/Tebow debacle he needs to build his resume...

If your a player being yelled at by this guy as your HC, would you take him seriously?
funny but true.

I bet a lot of this has to do with BBs friend Lombardi. Lombardi's son also works for the Patriots. If Im Mike Lombardi and Im taking over as GM i want a "BB approved HC" Josh is viewed favorably by BB, and who knows, maybe BB is going to be the HC of the NEP for another 10 years? Perhaps Josh wants to give it another shot.....

If I'm a Browns fan I would be screaming no. Not by his own fault the Bellichick era ended as the worst nightmare ever for Brown's fans and since then they've already failed with guys from the BB coaching tree in RAC and Mangina. So let's bring in another one? Bringing Lombardi back is also interesting in itself.

There's only two conclusions for Patriots fans on rookies. They are either a bust or being fitted for their bust in Canton.

Why would anyone want to coach the Browns?

It's where talent vanishes...the Bermuda triangle of the NFL.

Cos there are only 32 head coaching positions in the nfl. You take what you can.

It would suck to lose Josh to a HC before that as I was hoping now we'd have some continuity at OC and I've got full faith in Josh there. I'm not sure how he'd fare as BB's successor but I have as much faith in him as any other reasonable candidate, other than someone like Saban but what are the chances of that? Josh is still young and who knows, maybe 5 more years under BB would set us up very nicely for life after BB. If he is suitable he'll be our man for a long time.

Yeah I wouldn't be sold at all on the BB coaching tree either. And I think it's way too soon for Josh to get back into a HC spot, especially for such a losing franchise. It'll surely be the end of his opportunities as a HC. I think this would be really bad for all 3 parties involved (Josh, Browns, and we'd be losing a great OC).

Wasn't it Josh's idea to draft Tebow in Denver? Maybe he could become the HC of the NYJ. They certainly don't list "good talent evaluation skillls" under the desired characteristics of that job. Josh was way over his head in Denver and there was no sign that John Elway would give a decent recommendation.

John Fox took roughly the same team to the playoffs last year, and did a very professional job with the transition from Tebow to Manning. Josh has none of those skills at the head coach level.

If BB were to hang them up, I think Bill O'Brien would be at the top of Bob or Jonathan Kraft's list. He knows the Patriots organization and did an admirable job under the worst of circumstances with Penn State.

The other guy is Nick Saban, of course. He knows how to win, has worked in a pro coaching environment and won't have much left to prove at the BCS level by the time Belichick calls it a day
