They can always release or IR someone else, if they need them both by then.

IMO would have been a continued non-factor for the Pats going forward, regardless of his rapport with Brady. I too like this. I appreciate all that Branch has done, but I feel like it's time to move forward, and the Pats needed something more. Maybe Salas can provide, maybe not, but Branch's injury provided an opportunity to take a look and see, and I don't see that much was lost.

True (?Hoomanawanui), but that leaves the roster with less flexibilty, particularly given that Branch doesn't have special teams value.

Actually, they play the Jests next Thursday so that's like having a 2 1/2 week bye until their next real game!

Then, they don't pick him back up. Can't get more flexible than that.

I'm just hoping that green garbage from NY won't pick him up....

This is fools gold, it is not like the Patriots at super loaded at every position.

I can't ever recall a player been taken from the Patriots practice squad, if it did happen I would be curious to see what impact the player had.

It feels like the same old artificial delusion junk that gets floated about the Patriots talent level, they have good talent but are far from stocked.

Remember the Brian Hoyer for a 2nd rounder non-sense.

Plain and simple, Branch is a marginal player, with a bad hammy he is nothing.

Salas seems to project to a WR that can line up all over the rotation but will mostly be used in the slot and in between the numbers. He's an interesting prospect for sure. He seems to offer a bit more versatility than Edelman does.
