Talib has no chance with the fans here.
The average NFLteam completes over 20 passes a game. The average starting WR catches about 5. An int every 3 games is excellent, and Talib will be criticized for every completion allowed and lambasted for not getting at least 1 Int per game.
But, hes supposed to be a shutdown corner, Talib Island..

Never checked their record,I think they really are 5-4..but who cares?,they aren't going anywhere anyway
While you are probably right that they aren't going anywhere, Schiano has done an excellent job of turning the team around and instilling a more disciplined approach.
With a win on Sunday vs CAR, they would go to 6-4 and Greg Schiano may start to gain some credibility for coach of the year.
I still doubt that they can be much of a WC candidate with the cluster that is the NFC, but you never know.

Patiently waiting to defend the next "bubble" player in this summer's training camp.....
Haynesworth and Chad said the same thing, so I don't particularly care one way or the other, but for however little it's worth, he did say the right thing.
Haynesworth was a lazy bum, Talib isn't. Ochocinco couldn't grasp the offense, the defense is so basic I'm sure Talib will be able to understand better.
I get the feeling that at least half of the people who post on this board are just waiting and expecting Aqib to suck so they can Say I told you so, and to report that the NFL has passed BB by. I almost get the sense the only thing they want more than Aqib to succeed is Aqib to fail.
If he kicks assphault in the Sunday's game it will be "It's only one game. Let's see what he does against a good team" (as any team the Pats beat are not good, sine the Pats beat them.)
If he gives up a TD it will be "I've seen enough- this guys a bum. I KNEW it"
I don't know how good he'll play, but I can tell you that I WANT him to be good. Color me a homer because I want the team to win.
Talib doesn't have to be great,he doesn't even have to be very good....all we need is for him to do his job and on previous experience it shows he,even at his worst is still better than all the junk and crud we have in Pats uniforms in the secondary right now.
Here is how the gameday thread will read after his first play
Scenario A: He makes an INT
Fans : OMG, OMFG, Find of the year , SB here we come..........
Scenario B : Luck throws a TD to the WR being covered by Talib
Fans: BB has lost his mojo, this team sucks, trade Welker for a CB.........
Yes, this is the truth. There is not middle way. One side or the other. Fans are farcking idiots on this kind of stuff, and the media feeds it.

If he does leave, at least we'll get a comp pick for him.
Good point, here. I hadn't thought. It takes whatever sting out of losing a 4th for a 7th if we get a compensatory 4th somewhere else. At that point, it almost feels like we earned a 7th for the right to carry him on our roster and maybe play him for a few weeks. Even if it's a compensatory 5th... feels like free money to me.
