Oh I could think of a few in 2002 that would make your head spin.

How did this thread turn into a post defend the defense thread. They were terrible today. Spin it any way you want. Youth, inexperience, coaching. Yeah, they made enough plays to win the game but being constantly out of position to make plays is either a learning disability on the players or a teaching problem by the coaches.

Legit gripes? 1 really bad pass interference call and a questionable hold call. That's not the reason they lost the football game. Plus the commenter made that comment about the all-time series Brady v.s. the Bills.

yeah..I remember the Steve Martin season..he had a bazillion sacks and tackles in pre and post game interviews..unfortunately none of them occurred in a game....the more I decompress and take in what I saw this afternoon, the more I think the Pats took the bye week off and came in thinking they'd cakewalk a dead team...it wasn't just one or two players making attempted tackles and missing, it was all the players at one time or another...they make a hit at the LOS or behind it, and the runner breaks out of it, another hit, and he breaks from that...and then you see the DE just loafing down the field as the runner sprints right past him, without even the merest hint of effort...THAT is what was disturbing me earlier....I have to think the coaching staff is going to be breaking balls in practice this week, stressing play to the whistle.

2 of the PI calls in the end zone were terrible calls on uncatchable passes.

What was the other bad PI? The only clearly bad one was the uncatchable pass to Lloyd.

The throw to Gronk

Ball wasn't catchable. Those 2 PI calls, and the phantom holding on Glenn when the Bills were driving, were huge calls in the game.

It's part of football, but a team like the Bills generally needs all of the breaks to beat a team like the Pats. The stripes didn't do them any favors today.

Can anybody say with complete certainty that had he not been interfered with, that Gronk had no chance of laying out and getting his hands under the pass? From the two very pixelated views I saw, I'm not ready to rule that out, and that's what the ref would have had to do to say it was uncatchable. It's one thing to say a pass is uncatchable when it ends up 5 yards out of bounds (the second PI in question), but another to say that a ball is uncatchable when it lands in play and the intended receiver isn't allowed to cleanly make the cut toward the ball.

It wasn't even close to catchable.
