Whatever happened to the talents of Nhamdi Asomugha?.....seems ever since he left Oakland for Philly he has been nothing special,at one time he was to the corner spot position what Revis is now, dominant and shut down.

You're missing the point. Giving up a pick (2) in the future who could be a Brace, a Chad Jackson (another 2), for a known commodity now, in a position of great need.

Hes 31 and no longer a shut down corner. Even Charles Woodson and Champ Bailey aren't what they used to be- but pretty damn good. Rod Woodson went through a similar transition. Not as much press/MtM and more zone double-team work extended their careers.
We need to draft DBs. BB should stop getting cute when it comes to DBs and just draft sure picks instead of boom busters that always bust

The Patriots have been overachievers the past two years. It doesn't have the talent to compensate for injuries, and it wins so much because it puts in 99% effort in the regular season and plays with terrific schemes to mask its deficiencies.
But in the playoffs a good team at 99% will not beat emotional, talented teams that play at 100%. It's what happened against the Giants in 2011 and the Ravens in 2012.
Just so he can use that second rounder to draft players like D. Butler and co? He needs to just trade those draft picks away and get some talent since he's obviously clueless at drafting defensive backs.
Or Gronk, Vollmer, Spikes, Ridley, Vereen, Wilson, Welker(traded for a 2nd) Cunnigham, or trade up to the first to get a Chandler Jones.
Nah, those picks are useless.....

Absolutely correct, IMHO, drafting/talent recognition doesn't seem to be the issue here. The Pats have drafted effectively at all position groups these past five or six years except two: WR and DB, and regarding the WRs, they have found a variety of ways to be successful in spite of their inability to bring in and develop draftees. They have not been able to do the same with the DBs.
I think it is time for them to seriously consider bringing in some experienced help on the coaching side of this equation. To me, that is where the solution lies. Would I love to see them bring in someone with DRC's talent, yes, but I don't see that as being the cure-all. In fact, there is someone out there that would be the ideal candidate were it not for his one character flaw of being a disloyal rat-bastard. Surely there is someone else out there, however, that can do a more effective job than Josh Boyer or whomever it is that Belichick is relying on back there. I think they need to go in that direction.
For me it'd depend on whether he can sign long term for a reasonable deal, which probably isn't going to happen. As far as the pick goes I wouldn't have an issue giving up a 2nd for him, it's either him or draft another Ras I dowling/Darius Butler take your choice.

If all you can do is hail insults and berate me about how a couple of busts from the draft are proof enough that draft picks are worthless, then we have nothing to talk about.
When you grow up enough to have big boy conversations I'll be here waiting.
