Yet another vanilla defensive game plan from Patricia. Aside from solid efforts from individual players making great plays in our front 7, i can solidly attribute that from effort and skill rather than scheme.

The secondary plays a lot better with man to man coverage instead of the porous zone schemes we always employ. It might be a good decision to leave McCourty at Safety and let the rookies get some experience in the CB. It's not like our secondary can get any worse.

Why does BB and Patricia continue to have Spikes try to pass cover? He has no speed and is not a pass coverage LB, he should always be going after the RB or the QB and not EVER drop back. Mayo should be the only LB to ever drop back possibly Hightower. We need to get a more consistent pass rush and Spikes can bring the inside heat.

Lloyd is NOT a deep threat, he is a slightly better version of Branch. Brady and McDaniels should realize this and stop chucking bombs to him like he is a 2007 Randy Moss. Brady also needs to work on his deep passes, without a doubt he is beyond terrible from passes 15+ yards or longer this year.

It seems like McDaniels has not fully grasped how talented this offense can be and continues to tinker around different offensive approaches. He needs to realize Woodhead is not a power back and he is pretty bad running between the tackles. He is however great for outside toss plays and screen passes like the old Kevin Faulk days.

Hopefully the Pats win in London vs. Rams, and then use the bye week to figure out what works, what doesn't. They need to finally start to bring things in focus during November and full steam ahead through December and into the playoffs. The worst the Pats should be is 11-5, win the division. Depending on the Ravens path and their injuries, andthea win over Broncos, we could still end up with the #2 seed and a week 1 playoff bye. Texans are the only team that I can see beating the Pats once they are in tune and rolling.

The coaches will figure it out.

The whole pass D continues to be a mess so regardless of how bad the personnel is you have to put some blame on Patricia/the DB coaches.

I didn't see too many issues with the offensive playcalling. Just poor execution and injuries on the OL/TE are hurting us now. I don't mind testing the deep ball now and then, if nothing else you've got to keep the D honest and at least show a threat.

The defense continues to put out vanilla schemes where the offense continues to try and reinvent the wheel. If both could meet somewhere in the middle...

When will BB decide to put away his EGO and realize that his current defensive philosophy does NOT work. Second worst pass defense last year and now bar none the worst pass defense this year by a large margin. You know something needs to change if the likes of Sanchez and Russell Wilson can drop bombs like the second coming of Dan Marino. Defensive coaching needs a huge overhaul ASAP

its actually not the worst this year...that belongs to washington. but man is it terrible. solid run d only goes so far if your pass d is weak...because its way easier to get a big play with a pass than a run. and part of that lies on the schemes and our pass rush. ninkovich has stepped up lately...but i feel like the only constant in the rush is jones...even when he doesnt get sacks. love and wilfork are pure run-stoppers, not pass rushers. and we rarely blitz despite the fact that it works...

Sure we can. Don't know why Patricia deems it logical to have Spikes drop into coverage. Send him as the Mike and have Mayo drop into coverage if needed. Spikes/Hightower can overload the left side interior and help Jones and that would be very hard to stop indeed. Yet Patricia thinks it is better to drop these guys in coverage in pass plays. Having consistent QB pressure will ease the sieve that is our secondary.
