That was the correct Defense for the situation.
Hawks had Lynch and a run blocker in the Back field.
It was 1st and 10 and it sure looked like a run.
The TE moved to right and there were 2 Wide outs
Pats has 2 CB's and 2 Safeties on 2 WR. That should have been good.
It was a well designed Play to take advantage of the way PATs play defense.
At the snap the RB and Blocker went left and Wilson faked a hand off.
That kept DMC from staying with the WR as he was thinking cut back and
needed to provide run support on back side as two of the LB bit on the
fake.
The RB and blocker sealed off the rush and Wilson was all by himself.
By the time it was to determined to be a pass the TE has Cunningham
blocked and two of the original pass protectors on the left dropped back to
protect from LB penetration with PATs two right rushers neutralized.
Wilson had 5 seconds to do his thing.
Inexperienced Tevon bit on a fake to the outside by the WR and couldn't
recover enough to catch the streaking WR down the middle.
Result : Game winning TD
