That 46 yard bomb was just as much on whoever decided a 43 base cover 2 was a good coverage call in that situation.

It was probably the WORST play calling I've seen the Patriots make since I've been a fan.

Kind of disgusted still. I'll leave it at that.

I'd like to see Brady and mcdaniels stop worrying about putting 30+ up a game.

4th Quarter up 10 points and in the redzone, Bleed the clock! we are up 2 scores, run it three times, kick the field goal. instead we had a redzone int a 10 point shift(losing 3 from the FG, seahawks td) and ultimately lost by less then a fieldgoal.

In retrospect I agree. At the time however, I felt a far better play was to go for a TD and go up by 3 scores.

it comes to a point where the cornerback doesn't have any experience past a certain yard line, they dont know where to look back for the ball, they don't practice against deep route coverage, i think it is actually a valid point.
Ofcourse it makes sense.

The DBs are only practicing against 5-20 yard routes all week. When someone throws a 50 yard bomb in a game, they are unprepared.

Ebner is a former Rugby player and a STer for this team, not an NFL Safety

I realize injuries played a key but you pretty much lost the game before the snap when you have two rookies trying to contain a speedy veteran receiver.

Why they didn't call for a full all out blitz in that situation is beyond me....it wouldn't have hurt.

Rich man's Chad Pennington. Its why against a good defense, when they pack the middle of the field, Brady is done. There is a reason why we have not won a Superbowl in 8 years, and that reason is not Tavon Wilson.

it's all BS

the pats lost this game because it is clear they can't hold a multi-score lead late in the game:
- blew a 9 point lead in 9 min to the ravens
- blew a 13 point lead in 6 min to the seahawks

this is the current blueprint of this team

this is a real bad combination of their defense and mcdaniel play calling.

some philosophical changes need to be made by the coaching staff, or else we can just assume that opponents have a 50/50 chance of coming back from being down multiple score to the pats.......all they have to do is throw it up there enough times and something will happen.

russell freaking wilson and kevin freaking kolb.....judas priest

That was the correct Defense for the situation.
Hawks had Lynch and a run blocker in the Back field.
It was 1st and 10 and it sure looked like a run.
The TE moved to right and there were 2 Wide outs
Pats has 2 CB's and 2 Safeties on 2 WR. That should have been good.

It was a well designed Play to take advantage of the way PATs play defense.

At the snap the RB and Blocker went left and Wilson faked a hand off.
That kept DMC from staying with the WR as he was thinking cut back and
needed to provide run support on back side as two of the LB bit on the
fake.
The RB and blocker sealed off the rush and Wilson was all by himself.
By the time it was to determined to be a pass the TE has Cunningham
blocked and two of the original pass protectors on the left dropped back to
protect from LB penetration with PATs two right rushers neutralized.
Wilson had 5 seconds to do his thing.
Inexperienced Tevon bit on a fake to the outside by the WR and couldn't
recover enough to catch the streaking WR down the middle.
Result : Game winning TD
