Default Amazing Stat: The Brady/Belichick duo has never lost.........

They have never lost to TWO NFC Teams in the regular season/SB in ANY of the previous 11 seasons....and they have never lost to more than one NFC team in any one season...(last year was the only time an NFC team beat them twice, the NYG in the RS and the SB)

I find this utterly amazing

If this trend continues and since the Pats have already lost to an NFC team, the Cardinals, then the team should beat Seattle on sunday,The Rams and the
49ers in the coming weeks.

The statistic is utterly amazing for sure.

As pointed out, that may be tested this season when the 49'ers come to town.

That said, I also expect to be SF's toughest matchup, and I would expect Belichick to have a trick or two up his sleeve for that defense.

The fact that it's at home will also help of course.

I used to find a measure of comfort in those stats. But around 2009, we started to learn that streaks end, and we've seen plenty end over the last three years.

Not that I think the Pats are going to lose Sunday.

Then again, in my preseason prediction thread, I had the Seattle game down as one of those inexplicable losses.

“On a day when they could have had impact players David Terrell or Koren Robinson..they took Georgia defensive tackle Richard Seymour, who had 1 sacks last season in the pass-happy SEC and is too tall to play tackle at 6-6 and too slow to play defensive end. This genius move was followed by trading out of a spot where they could have gotten the last decent receiver in Robert Ferguson and settled for tackle Matt Light, who will not help any time soon.”

Why? The Niners offense should have a moderate amount of success against our secondary, but their defense hasn't seen an offense like our's.

Wanna take a side bet on that?

Say a beer for some stranger (or better, a nice lady ) in the bar or $10 donation to a local charity?

I am feeling very confident about us and that we'll be in a far better shape as the season progresses.

I think Cushing or not in the lineup, the Texans defense is better suited to stop this offense than the 49ers and the Texas high powered offense is better suited to keep up with the Pats offense

I just think they are better overall, especially on offense to beat or outscore the Pats, despite losing thier leader on defense.

I think it will be extremely hard to win both of those games back to back,I think the Texans beat us and we beat SF.......plus Brady is still pissed about SF passing him for Carmazzi

Well, as you noted, that stat conveniently tap dances around the fact that they quite recently lost twice in the same season to an NFC team...

If patsfaninpittsburgh didn't get banned... hold on... ... okay. If patsfaninpittsburgh didn't get banned, he would have a bone to pick with this statement.
