You mentioned similarities to Aaron Hernandez in your game, what would be some examples?
“You just have to watch tape, but yeah, there’s some similarities there. He’s probably one of the most versatile tight ends in the game, if not the most. He goes all around the field. He can play any position. He’s very versatile in what he does and he’s smart. He’s a very good player.”
How much do you pride yourself on being a versatile tight end?
“I do. But it’s going to take me a while to catch up to where he’s at.”
At this point in your career, is there anything you need to prove to yourself or others?
“I think every day, you have to prove yourself. With what happened in Seattle, I can’t say much about what happened. It is what it is and I have to move on.”
There were reports about the health of your right knee. Do you feel good about where you are?
“There is a question every year. The thing I concentrate on is not missing games, because then there is nothing held against me.”
How does that work – people say the knee is a major mess but you never miss any games. How do those two things tie together?
“I would say will, man. Overcome. This is my dream to play. Like is said, if I was missing games every year or something like that, it would be true.”
Do you play in a lot of pain?
“Yeah, but it doesn’t matter.”
Do you feel like you have something to prove to all the doubters that say you can’t stay healthy?
“Yeah.”
What was Schiano's beef with this guy and why he warned Belichick agianst him? He just answered this Q&A as if he's been a Patriot for several years. Unless the Patriots have some crash-course brainwashing session on how to deal with the media, I'm already impressed with him.

re: Kellen Winslow's first Q&A: sounds like a Patriot
It definitely has a sprinkling of, "Look how tough I am," though. It's patriot-esque in that he didn't openly spout any bravado, but there's definitely a hint of self absorption there... but I'm reading WAY between the lines, haha.

Good interview. To answer your question, his beef with Winslow was that Winslow said that there weren't enough "smiles" around the locker room during TC. Well, of course not, Kellen. The team was a trainwreck last year and Schiano was brought in to right the ship.

I had forgotten about Wilfork and KW2 being teammates in college.
Hopefully this helps the transition at least on learning "the Patriot way"
warning- Herald link!
(BTW, after YEARS of never visiting the Herald because of Tomase, their coverage in my book has gotten to be worth following, but I understand anyone not wanting to give them a click)

Maybe it's just me, but linking the thread about the in stadium WiFi and Kraft's hints about future innovative applications of the technology, I for one would not be at all surprised that BB is running some proprietary brain wave mind control protocol on the players in stadium. Winslow, Brady's comments on Welker, the list goes on. Probably Moss' wackjob press conference was the impetus. I suggest that some networking engineers bring a spectrum analyzer to the next game and look for signals well above the 2.4 GHz range. Let me know what you find via PM so as to not get Ian in trouble.

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.
This is known as "bad luck." RAH

Reports were that he thought Schiano was too strict (paraphrasing).
Admittedly, he does seem like kind of a douche based on all this follow up from the final play of the Giants game. Seems like it was a problem with two douches colliding. Too much douchitude in one place at one time. Kellen had to vacate.

ESPN and that crackpot Easteregg have darkly hinted at this being the biggest conspiracy in sports history. They believe BB illegally used mind control technology to convince Peyton Manning that Ty Law was actually a Colt WR and to make Billy Cundiff think the goal posts were further to his left. (Unfortunately, that last feature was accidentally left on during the 4th quarter last Sunday).

You'all buying that? i have Brooklyn Bridge to sell you's. KW2 is very good player but he the kinda guy you like until he opens his mouth. He has done well on the field its off it where he hurts his person. KW2 is not on the streets because he cannot play it's because Teams don't want to put up with his primadona attitude. KW2 is jack of trades but because of his mouth he's master of none. First round skills but Seventh round character.
