Default Receivers [Edit: Post Branch Cutdown]

Yes, we need to add depth.

WR: Welker, Hernandez, Lloyd, Edelman

When did Hernandez make the switch to WR? After he was paid as a TE? Where can I find this, roster move section?

And uhh, if we had a trio of Welker, Hernandez, and Lloyd at WR, please explain why exactly we'd need depth?

I'd look at that and say TE is the issue as we wouldn't be able to run our offense with only Gronk. We run a 2TE2WR1RB offense, not a 3/1/1.

Something like 60% of his snaps a year ago were either in the slot or out wide.

Roster move? Would you put 50 players ahead of Hernandez as a receiver. He is at least a #3 and perhaps a #2 receiver.

You think that he is paid like a TE? Check out his contract. You think that he isn't paid as much as #3 receivers in the league? I believe it was his agent who wanted to petition to label Hernandez a wide receiver so that his franchise tag would be higher.

Hernandez was paid more like a WR than a TE.

And who cares what position he is listed as? Hernandez is a guy who does it all TE/WR/FB/HB. The position he is listed at for Fantasy Football means jack.

I'll worry more about receivers if game 2 comes with neither Branch nor Gaffney on the roster.

We are now in territory where TE's and WR's are "pass catchers" and WR's, TE's, and RB's are going to be "skill players".

The one area where an addition is possible is a "nine route" specialist.

Wait for the other shoe to fall. All signs points to Gaffney being back sometime after week 1. The Pats might trade for someone.

The New England Patriots wide receiver corps has thinned out completely.

Wide Receivers: Welker, Lloyd, Edelman, Ebert, Slater

Tight Ends: Gronkowski, Hernandez, Fells

Slater is strictly a special teams player while Ebert is nothing special.
