He's healthy and he has some knowledge of the scheme (11 days on the practice squad last year). They're basically bringing him in so they don't have to put other WRs on the field on Wednesday.

Try out for the PS or to update the rolodex.

A bit of pedigree too - he is related to former 49er John Taylor.

Other than the three on reserve the only other one I accurately predicted was Tim Bulman. Not that I'm surprised at being surprised. . .

After thinking about this... you know who the biggest winner is in all these moves? Trevor Scott. BB releases vets early, as a courtesy, so they can land on another roster before the season starts: Warren, Gaffney, Stallworth. If Scott were in bad favor, he would have been on the cut list. He's feels like a bubble survivor out of all this.

Josh Barret must be the most amazing S/LB combo ever to live through 2 years of IR.

The Patriots have been overachievers the past two years. It doesn't have the talent to compensate for injuries, and it wins so much because it puts in 99% effort in the regular season and plays with terrific schemes to mask its deficiencies.

But in the playoffs a good team at 99% will not beat emotional, talented teams that play at 100%. It's what happened against the Giants in 2011 and the Ravens in 2012.
