Love's agent sums it up nicely:
[quote]“Very deserving client who has worked very hard,” Stellato said. “Our company, KLASS Sports, is very happy we were able to do this for the third time. We appreciate the Patriots stepping up and making a commitment to Love at a time when they did not have to do so. Kyle Love has the New England Patriots in his blood.”

Love gets some "love" from the team and a little security. The team gets Love for 2013 at just marginally over what they minimally would have had to tender him at to keep him, and possibly much less than it would have cost if Love played well this year and attracted RFA offers from other teams (not particularly likely in the current RFA climate, but not out of the question). And it builds goodwill between the team and Love, which won't hurt when he goes into his contract year next year, or becomes a UDFA after 2013.
