Default Mark Wahlberg: A confident Brady

In a lighter story:

Wahlberg banned from watching Super Bowl at home

Quote:
Wahlberg is confident he won't have a similar outburst next winter, though. He's talked it over with his buddy Tom Brady, and he's confident the Patriots will walk away with the Lombardi Trophy in seven months.

“He came to visit me . . . and Tom feels, like, they’re gonna win this year,” Wahlberg said.
In another news, the sky is blue. I know Brady thinks they'll win it every year - but Brady aside, the general feeling I get from this team so far this offseason is supreme confidence that they will be back representing the AFC next year. And I like that confidence. They've responded to a heart-breaking loss in the big game as well as one could hope.

I relate to Wahlberg's story about watching the Super Bowl. I will be watching in a neutral place if we ever get back - I felt sick entering my home for weeks being reminded what happened.

I still have my cathode tube 1991 RCA '29 inch color TV in the basement.

I watched the Patriots win 3 Super Bowls on that TV.

In 2008, I watched them lose on my 2 year old Plasma.

In 2012, they lost on my brand new '50 inch Vizio.

Something tells me the old RCA still has some life left in her.

Well, outside of the Texans and the Ravens there's not many threats to the Pats in the AFC. I'd count the Broncos but Brady has shown that he can cut through their defense like a hot knife through butter. As long as good health graces us, I see no reason why we wouldn't at least return to the big game, if not win it.

Seeing 'The Sum of all Fears' over the weekend reminded me: with Bridget, Brady was 2-0, with Giselle, he's 0-2.

Bridget was good for Tom - remember the scene at Kraft's ring party after the Eagles Super Bowl, where Tom was sobbing, and Bridget was there consoling him?

And Bridget and Tom were good for the fans.

I'm not superstitious. I'm just sayin'

I love this story about Wahlberg. I don't think my wife would let me watch another SuperBowl with the Pats in it at home either. I acted so poorly after the last one. It was really embarrassing. I told myself after that, I will never take a game so seriously again. Even if the Pats lose another big one. I will hate every second of it, but I can still be respectful and have tact, much like the team we all root for.

I think the Pats are one of about 4 teams who have a legitimate shot to win it all...IMO Standing in the way of another AFCCG and a shot in the SB is Baltimore,Houston and Cincinnati (I think the Bengals are up and coming).

I do think the most important part of the Pats season and their biggest challenge of all are injuries to the team within....Brady,Wilfork and Gronkowski cannot miss much time if at all.

He's got good reason to be confident, they have a stronger roster now than they did this time last year, and if if their young players come into their own it will be the best team they have ever fielded. The offense, at least imo, is better than the 2007 offense, and their defense will be much improved over the defense they fielded last season, and they could be great if the young players (McCourty, Chung, I-Dowling, Spikes, Jones, and Hightower) come into their own. I hate to wish any summer away, but I can't wait to watch this team play. I', thinking 14-2 with a Lombardi, and I rarely go there at this time of the year. The play-offs are always a crapshoot because of injuries, but I really love how strong this team is and how deep they are, as long as it isn't a Brady or Wilfork injury they have the depth to whether most problems, those 2 are irreplaceable.

Since it's just me and my daughter now, I'm not worried about that. I'll holler and scream, because otherwise I might have a stroke.

After the 1st of the two games which shall never be mentioned by name, I got well & truly hammered. I was hungover for 2 days. This past one, I was better, though the bourbon did help to dampen some of the emotions.

I've gotten better now, mostly because I do understand that, in the end, it's just a game. The sun will rise in the morning, I'll still have a mortgage & bills to pay, and my daughter will, in her own teenage fashion, still love me. Life goes on.

I just make it a point not to watch replays of any of the losses, regular season or playoffs. I've got enough hurt in the real world to deal with, thank you very much.

When I watch the games I want to be alone with no one else in the house. For 1:00 pm games this is often possible, but we tend to get visitors on Sundays around 4:00. My language and general behavior watching games is admittedly awful. Last season I was watching an early season game and the weather was still summer-like, so I had the windows open. I was yelling and screaming and generally acting like my usual asshat self, when my wife suggested I close the windows so that our next-door neighbors wouldn't hear me. When I informed her that our neighbors were away in Hawaii, she responded, "What the hell difference do you think that makes?" I closed the windows.
