At this point the Pats would sell out Michigan stadium in Ann Arbor in a matter of minutes. There just isn't a facility with large enough seating for the demand of the product this last decade.

from the article:

Quote:
This is the second straight year that individual game tickets have gone on sale in mid July; last year they were placed on sale on Friday July 15. Prior to that the tickets went on sale earlier in the off-season: June 21 in 2010, June 4 in 2009, and on May 16 in 2008. This is pure speculation on my part, but perhaps the reason for the later sale date is to get more fans that are on the fence to renew their season tickets?
That makes no sense. Invoices must be paid by the end of March. It's possible that they are giving waiting list members a little extra time to pay for seats that became available from season ticket holders that didn't renew.

Been a fan thru the good times and the bad.
I will never be confused with a "fair weather" fan.

The home opener will clearly be a big draw this year because IT IS THE HOME OPENER but also because the Pats start out with 3 of 4 games on the road.

So the Pats are giving existing season ticket holders a month to pay once they are invoiced, but giving people that were on the waiting list four months from the time they are invoiced to pay?

I really don't know. I remember when my turn came up to get my tickets they weren't offered to me until after the waiting list pre-sale had come and gone. I remember thinking I had to wait yet another year when out of no where I have this invoice in my mail box. The funny thing is I had already picked up a couple of games from the waiting list member pre-sale. It might be that the invoices for waiting list members who's turn comes up aren't invoiced until June or July.

Here's a tip for getting tickets. If you are like me and make the whole tailgate/game/post game tailgate one big day then consider clicking for one ticket, then after you get the one, go for another single ticket even though it will not be next to your buddy. You still get the pre-game tailgating of up to 4 hours and another hour or so after the game so what's the big deal about not sitting next to him or her during the game? You usually get other decent Pats fans to be with in the stadium anyway. Actually I was never disappointed in the experience.

I wound up seeing most of the seasons biggest games that way and even the playoff games, including the 2007 AFC championship game and the 04 Colts 20-3 game.
