So methinks the Brady household must be #1 then.

He doesn't. On average his deal is 6 years $78M ($50M guaranteed) or $13M per year. Still ridiculous for a kid who never set foot on an NFL field and one of the poster boys for why the owners were insistent on a rookie contract cap.

He had a small signing bonus in his rookie season (structure due to impending lockout) and then got a 2nd year signing bonus of $18M which was probably paid in August last year due to the lockout (many deals called for bonuses to be paid 5 days after the start of the new league year - as opposed to in March - so not paid before the lockout). That plus his 2011 salary plus the fact his contract was adjusted for possible cap purposes ($12M 2012 salary converted to $6M roster bonus paid in May 2012 and $6M remaining as salary to be paid this season) means that much of his entire deal happened to be paid out between last June and this June.

From here on out unless they tinker with his deal again he will be paid $7-12M per depending on the year and won't make Forbes top 100.

If they did a list of household earnings power couples in sports, they'd probably top it at a pretty legit $65M+. They did top a list of celebrity couples earnings in 2011 (but who knows what those figures entailed) that included Beckham and Victoria. Outearned pure celebs like Jay-Z and Beyonce and Branjolina among others.

The stats are misleading, of course, for the reasons pointed out by others here: signing bonuses, endorsements, contract year, etc.

But what is interesting is that of the teams to win a Super Bowl in the last five years, only two appear on the list, with the Steelers the only team with more than one representative and the Giants with Eli.

She'd be off the NFL list. Supposedly she made $45 in 2011. According to Forbes, she's made $180 over the last five years.

It's also worthwhile noting that she keeps her main residence in New York or California, two of the highest tax states in the US. Unlike other global celebrities (e.g., Bono), she hasn't sought to avoid/evade (I use both terms because I don't want to get into a theological debate on which it is this early in the day) taxes by setting up fictional residences in tax havens.

Speaking of residences, I was shocked the news of Brady finally selling the Back Bay condo this week for $9M didn't get any play here. FWIW apparently they aren't homeless or living in a hotel or planning on commuting from LA until Tom can land the 49ers gig.... Breer says they've been living in Brookline for a while now. Somehow managed to keep that under the radar. Must have followed through on the estate they were rumored to be buying a while back in Kraft's neighborhood.

I guess with another little Brady-Bundchen on the way the manse in Brookline is more suited to their needs. Plus, I imagine the privacy thing gets more and more important as they become more and more famous and have more and more kids.

Otherwise...New York...California...Taxachusetts! No one can say that Tom and Gisele aren't shouldering their share of the public burden!
