Default Goodell: Vikings didn't tamper

Quote:
NEW YORK (AP)—NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has ruled that the Minnesota Vikings did not tamper with Brett Favre in trying to get the quarterback to sign with them.

Goodell said that while there were conversations between then-retired Favre and Vikings coaches, that none of the conversations suggested Favre was soliciting a job or that anyone was soliciting his services.

Not surprising, but inexcusable. Now the precedent is that telephone conversations between players under contract and other teams' head coaches aren't prima facie evidence of tampering?

Goodell is an idiot with severe lack of judgement, which he has proven time and time again.

In the course of this investigation - it became known that Green Bay supplies cell phones to players (this was how they found out Brett spoke with Minny, until they realized what they did and then denied it).

Cell phones to players not being declared is a cap violation.

Where is the fine for Green Bay??

If it were the Pats, we would lose a draft choice for sure and be accused of who knows what.

Heh. You can tell by that blank look that's on his face 24/7. I'm actually starting to think that the Commissioner spot was up for sale...

Yea, I'm sure they were just talking about the latest episode of Desperate Housewives or perhaps how to properly lubricate a chain saw.

Give me a break. Goodell has completely lost it.

Kontra - That freaking picture you are using as your Sig. needs to go. Damn.

Go back to the Flying elvis with the changing pictures.

Back to topic - It was and Mr. Kraft and Jerry Jones bought it for Goodell.

I second the picture change. I'm having the same reaction to it that I have when watching Japanese animation.

Back to the point: SanFran fans must be REALLY PISSED!!! Slapped with draft pick losses for a guy you didn't even get then watching this. This guy has got to go. If Brett winds up in Minn. this guy should be thrown out with the bath water.

Goodell is bad news for the NFL. Tags stuck with the status-quo for a reason:You don't contradict yourself and damage the product.
