This little detail seems to have been completely overlooked in all the sturm und drang over Tavon Wilson. The only threads on Bequette are on the draft board. So as a public service announcement:
With the 90th pick in the draft, the Patriots selected Jake Bequette of Arkansas, a tenacious 6'4.5" 274-lb. defensive end whose shuttle and cone times were faster than Morris Claiborne's.
Bequette was a first-team All-SEC selection with 10.5 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, and five forced fumbles.

After watching film (Thanks Ninja) and reading a lot about this kid, I really...really like him. Crazy high motor, decent spin move and RELENTLESS. I think this will be a very nice addition.

I really like this pick, ive read that he was slow, he doesn't look slow to me, he looks explosive. I watched him go through people and around them.
Kudos to the guy who loved Bequette and Wolfe. Wolfe went way higher than we all thought and we took Bequette. Great job.

There's only two conclusions for Patriots fans on rookies. They are either a bust or being fitted for their bust in Canton.

Same here...alot of analysts are saying that he is just an average athlete but his first step off the snap seems pretty quick. And you gotta love those high motor guys.
Good pick.

Yeah, the NFL.com scouting report says "While strong in the run game, he is seldom a factor in the passing game." Doesn't quite mesh with what I've seen.

He would be here but he broke his arm patting himself on the back and broke his arm, can't type
I have no problem with him doing a I told you so. He may not have been the most diplomatic person about his opinions but in the face of taking a lot of crap he stuck to his beliefs and if nothing else NFL talent evaluators agree with him. Wolfe and Bequette still need to prove it on the field but the guy nailed it.
