Tick Tick Tick 72 hours until free agency

And the patriots have announced ZERO re-signings. This is most unusual.

Really hoping Carter and Connolly get resigned before the market opens.

Don't think A. Carter is healthy enough to sign with anyone right now. I'd like to re-up Connolly and Mark Anderson before they hit the open market.

Anderson will be tough to keep. He's turned a few heads this year.

We'll find out soon enough if a shot at a ring ...or money...is more important to him

I'm not so sure he showed anyone he is any different than it was already known he was. A sub package pass rusher who struggles doing much else and can get you some sacks.
That is what garnered him a one year deal for 1mill plus a 375k signing bonius from us after his team cut him in October the year before and the team that picked him up didn't try to bring him back.
I don't think the number in his sack column has changed many opinions of him.
I don't think anyone doubted he could be a pass rush specialist.

He did really well in the Pats defense, playing a hybrid role. Other teams may not see this as translating so well into other schemes. Maybe this will work in our favor?

If any team is going to give him more than 3 million annually, play him like a starter, and expect the same sack totals he had his rookie year and this past year, they are making the same mistake that Chicago did (minus the hefty salary of course).

That being said, I'm of the belief that Anderson would like to stay here knowing that he had his most productive season (sack wise) with us. That and I'm sure he's taken notes after seeing a similar situation unfold with a similar player in Tully Banta Cain.

I disagree entirely.

I think that Anderson played the run a lot better than most anyone thought he could, and having a double-digit sack total never hurts in any capacity.

You're acting like he was already known for his ability to gain a double digit sack total....except that has not happened in SIX seasons.

The other sack totals were:

5

1

3 1/2

4

4

Saying that M.Anderson didn't surprise some people by going back to double digit sack totals since his rookie year in 2006 AND showed that he can do a lot better against the run is very short-sighted.
