Would you care more if you understood that Bill Belichick just happened to be a defensive coach or Defensive Coordinator on half of those NYG teams that beat the 49ers?

Belichick's and Parcells's history with the two greatest nemeses of the NE Patriots at this point in franchise history is fascinating. The NY Jets story has been told and re-told. Now that the NY Giants have two wins in the Super Bowl over the Patriots, the intertwining story of the coaches involved including guys like Tom Coughlin and Pepper Johnson grows.

The connection to the 49ers with Parcells, Coughlin and Belichick all involved in beating Bill Walsh and Joe Montana while Tom Brady sat in the stands and later came to surpass his statistics is all part of what is one of the most interesting story lines of the past 30 years in the NFL.

Good work.

Because when Tom Brady is arrogant (for probably the only instance in his whole career) you have an issue with it.

Yet you laud the Giants for having arrogance on defence.

Make up your mind.
Arrogance and swagger (confidence) are 2 different things.

The giants never laughed at the notion of the pats possibly beating them. They just came out and said they'll win. There was no pretty boy laugh from Eli nor a "what, is plax going to play defense" type comment.

"He’s the greatest quarterback to ever play the game. He goes from being a rookie that nobody is expecting anything from, to taking over with people saying he can’t do it, to winning three Super Bowls....It should already be obvious he’s the greatest quarterback to ever have played. "

Seems like a fairly self-defeating bit of analysis.

Too late for that.

How so? One might not have the opportunity to stock your lines as you'd like but that doesn't necessarily mean it shouldnt be a focus.

Is there a single GM in the league that doesn't subscribe to this line of thinking?

I know that Polian has been of the opinion that the best picks should usually go to the skill positions, but he's also not a GM anymore so who knows?
