Default Semi-OT: Penn St. loses 4 top recruits to Ohio St.

With Urban Meyer back in the college coaching fold at Ohio St., news came out that 4 top Penn St. recruits have jumped ship and now signed on to play for the Buckeyes.

You'd have to figure BOB's mind is pretty one-track right now (the Super Bowl), but his career livelihood really rests on that Penn St. program and this is a big blow to them. Hope he can phase it out of his mind for another few days.

BoB will pocket big money at Penn State, but he can set his career for life as the OC of a Super Bowl winner.

In short, go Pats!

Did BOB not expect something like this to occur given the stigma (rightfully or wrongfully) that will be for ever attached to Penn State?

Pretty old news. Not exactly shocking Bill O'Brien. One of the recruits was an OL from Colorado Joey O'Connor. He de-committed right after the scandal broke back in Nov. A second decommitted in December Tommy Schutt a dt from the Chicago area. And, the two most recent ones have been wavering ever since Meyer went to Ohio St. Former Patriots Brent Williams - DE from the late 80's. His son Camren was a top lb recruit and a teammate Armani Reeves -cb from Catholic Memorial. Cam always showed tremendous enthusiasm about playing for PSU. His family is very education orientated and PSU seemed to fit like a glove. Tremendous graduations rate and a great on field program for a lb. Even as a PSU alum/fan I don't blame these kids for reconsidering. You have to go to school where you feel comfortable. I've read speculation that Urban was good friends with Joepa and was seriously considering the PSU job once joepa retired until the scandal broke. One of the reasons he knew a little bit about the PSU commits. Another tough loss in the recruiting area for PSU was Noah Spence - DE. He's from Harrisburg, Pa. He hadn't committed to PSU yet. But, his family built a tremendous friendship with Larry Johnson Sr. He's PSU's DL coach and top recruiter. Yes, the rb's father. Once the scandal broke the Spence's acknowledged they weren't considering PSU any longer.
