Here I was thinking I was a total freak for wanting to watch this game alone.
I don't have any friends who are Pats fans and the places I've been invited to on Sunday will be full of people getting drunk, talking loudly and asking dumb questions. NO THANKS.

This is such a rare and precious gift and I value it immensly. Taking a few hours to myself where I can focus on the team and game that I truly love, with out being interrupted or distracted, is just a little gift to myself.

That list is a little "meh." However, I am still scarred by the 1007 Superbowl. Therefore I decided to go skiing in VT and then catch the game at a local bar. It is a very different experience than usual, but I feel it may help me deal if they lose...or not.

I'm invited to my uncle's place to watch the game with family. Problem is I only know of myself and my brother as huge Pats fans, everyone else is either casual, rooting for NY, or only in it for the commercials. I'm starting to second-guess this and wondering if it might be better to "call in sick" and watch the game alone. I was with my brother and two others who were on the Giants side the last time around. Don't want that again.

Exception.

I know Randy "Zip" Pierce who was the 2001 Pats Fan of the Year. He lost his sight a decade ago and is a major Bruschi fan. His home in NH is a Patriots Shrine with a large family room with a big screen and TVs in the LR and the porch/hot tub/bar. Any how I've watched games there with dozens of serious Pats fans. Randy listens to Gil & Geno. We DVR sync the TV with the radio as best we can. Great football insight on every play from this crew. Great food. Got invited there for the SB and would go but I'm away in FL so will watch game only with wife.
I've been at his house for a Superbowl. It was back in the 90's when he lived in Lowell. One of the Dallas Superbowls. I was very happy for him when he won Fan of the year. I'm friends with him on Facebook and his 20/20 vision quest is an inspiration.

I watch regular season games alone but for the super bowl I like to be with at least one other die hard for the end when they win.
I watched SB 36 at a friends house, when Adam kicked the game winner I jumped so high and far I landed on my friends dog and broke his leg. Felt bad about that but did watch the other two super bowl victories with him so I guess no hard feelings.
This one Im watching with my brother, dad and my dog, my dog knows to keep her distance when I watch football

The only Living Soul that I allow in the Mancave while watching the PATS is my dog
When I launch into the inevitable tirade over bad calls or missed opportunities she runs in to save me
She licks my face until my humanity returns and leaves until the next angry psychotic episode
Great Pooch

My wife is hard core when it comes to the Pats and Red Sox, although she doesn't throw things!
