I've been invited to many parties for this weekend. All my friends are rooting against the pats. As much as I would hate to be there for a loss I'd love to be there for a win just to rub it in if they lose well lets not talk about that. Also I threw a party for the game that shall not be named needless to say I punched a giants fan in the face. Felt good man.

I'm in the hard core camp who watches alone.

Exception.

I know Randy "Zip" Pierce who was the 2001 Pats Fan of the Year. He lost his sight a decade ago and is a major Bruschi fan. His home in NH is a Patriots Shrine with a large family room with a big screen and TVs in the LR and the porch/hot tub/bar. Any how I've watched games there with dozens of serious Pats fans. Randy listens to Gil & Geno. We DVR sync the TV with the radio as best we can. Great football insight on every play from this crew. Great food. Got invited there for the SB and would go but I'm away in FL so will watch game only with wife.

I have decided to watch this one alone. Every party I was invited to had "couples" and I really don't want to get punched by one of my friends for a snide comment made under duress. Nope. I'm gonna hunker down with 18 coors lights (a beer one can nervously drink and not get pigeon-toed drunk) and be on here. I much prefer the company of this place.

There are only two Patriots Super Bowls for which I listened to Gil and Gino while watching: 30 and 42. Won't happen again. Doesn't seem to work out well for me!

It's always good to keep a rifle around for friends or relatives who use the phrase "system QB."

I will not watch with Giants fans, or anyone rooting against the Patriots.

For me it is like inviting hecklers to a baptism. No way. Not fun. Not funny. Just awful.

For the Voldemort Game, I flew up to New Hampshire to watch with my family. I was so glad I did. However, that flight from Portsmouth to Durham NC was like a funeral. Everyone was so sad that Monday morning.

This year, I told my friends that I'm watching alone, so I can be my authentic intense self, and not have to censor what I say/do because people tend to get all sensitive about my intensity during games.

They can suck it. This is the Patriots in the Super Bowl. I won't ruin it by watching it with Giants fans.

The difference is that Brady calmly calls audibles while Manning flaps like a chicken, barks 11 code words, and makes sure every camera in the stadium has documented his once-in-a-generation (and patented, I believe) ability to see a defensive formation and change the play. Both have the same effect, but Manning transcends measurable human intellect while Brady merely chooses a different play.
