When everything is said and done. I think most players around the league realize that Spygate was much ado about nothing and many of them have seen or heard of their or other teams conduct even more blatant examples of cheating. Plenty of players or former players have gone on record of such.

For the most part, players are fierce competitors and all want to be part of a team with a committment to winning and the success to back it up. It is still a job so many players won't leave millions of dollars on the table to play here, but when the money is similiar guys like Jordan jump at the chance to play for a winner especially after playing for the Raiders who are committed to not much of anything other than Al Davis craziness.

This is from his recent Q&A, but I know he also make similar comments upon signing.

The comments are even more interesting when juxtaposed with last year's Spygate episode, when lots of people were questioning whether one of the lingering effects would be other players' perceptions of the Patriots and if it would possibly damage them in player acquisition.

So do you think that Jordan's comments are indicative of what other players around the league still think of the Patriots?

Let's not forget that he went from one of the worst AFC teams to one of the best......in one day. He went from being hated by a fan base to a team that could win it all.....in one day. He's wearing some pretty rosey glasses right now. I doubt he gave a single thought about Spygate.

Though I enjoy hearing Jordan make positive comments about my favorite teams, I'm not going to read a whole lot into his statement. Every player that moves to any new team has good things to say about that team, how it's a great opportunity, a beautiful area, a chance to do something special, looking forward to working with whomever, etc. Jordan may indeed have been genuine with his comments, but if anything it may have more to do with the organization that he is leaving than the one he is now part of.

Umm...yes. Yes I could (Chargers anyway). Not really sure how you came up with those two teams to make a non-point.

Except for comments made in a post-draft fluff press conference, no you couldn't. You're right--the choice of teams is pretty random. Go LDT!

Now, that's better. Really, there's no organization that's run worse than the Raiders. Jordan's world could only improve in that regard.

Nice comments by Lamont. I do wonder though if all players moving to a different team say it's a "privilege" to be part of the new team or it just so happens more often with the Pats.

Exactly. The most consistently well-run teams in the NFL are:

NE
SD
Indy
Pitt
Philly

I'd say for the last 5 or so years you can count on them being fairly competitive & well-run. Now I would expect a player signed by any of those teams to make comments about "this is a great organization committed to winning, i'm proud to be a part of it" etc., but Jordan takes it to another level.

He goes out of his way to single out the Patriots Brand and talk about what it means. As much as I hate to say it, it's a lot like how I'd imagine baseball players perceive what it's like to put on a Yankee's uniform ...
