I would only tweak it a bit. I will not be enjoying it a whole lot if we lose but I certainly recognize and and appreciate the accomplishments of our team, considering all the strikes against us this year.

...and I certaintly recognize both (1) how lucky we are as fans, and (2) the fact that it is not a this year or next year thing with this team. They are hopefully built for a couple more years of success.

If they win I will enjoy it for sure...if they lose I certainly appreciate the effort and acknowledge that this team will be competitive for a while...and I certainly do enjoy that!!

Now, go get it boys....
I think that's all the OP was trying to convey. Nobody ever enjoys losing, but one game doesn't define this organization and that is it's real beauty. So spare me the everything sucks threads if things don't go our way on our 5th trip to the show (or whatever that is Gronk's calling it...) in the 12 seasons since Brady and Belichick landed here. This team is positioned to remain competitive for the forseeable future. Lots of draft capital, great cap management, sufficient revenue stream to compete in FA, limited potential impact FA issues to deal with, a young core emerging, a HC who can make damn good chicken salad out of whatever ingredients he ends up working with and no real coaching or system changes to grapple with.

It doesn't get much better than this unless you win it all. And given the nature of the beast that simply isn't always going to happen. Appreciate the journey either way because it won't be the last here. Because that's the nature of this organization.

I'd say Wes Welker is a little more than a limited potential impact FA issue.

The number of impact potential FA is limited...and it's already a given Wes isn't going anywhere.

Seclusion wouldn't be a bad option compared to the alternative...

Belichick will be 60 has 2 more years on his contract, Brady has 3 years left.. if we are lucky we could have one more super bowl run next year, but 2008 could have had another chance at redeeming sb 42 loss.. but bernard pollard... and we know what happend.. so appricate the 2 men that brought us joy as pats fans because it could be gone before you know it... just ask peyton manning....

The point is to enjoy the ride and not act like we're entitled to a Lombardi trophy every season. Obviously you want to win, but don't act like it's owed to you. Everyone looks back at '07 with a sneer. That was an incredible run that will most likely never be replicated, and a win would have put that team on Mt. Olympus. Trying for that and falling just short is still nothing to sneeze at.

It's quite possible we never see the Super Bowl again, and it would be a shame to not enjoy it while it lasts.

I get his point. Just watch the game not expecting anything. I have prepared myself for any outcome. I failed to be prepare the last time and got sick literally.
This year, I am not under any illusions about our strengths and weaknesses as previous playoff outings.

I'll let you know whether I could "enjoy" the game 'round about 10PM Sunday night. That's the best I can do.
I agree with this last sentence. I want it to be 10pm Sunday, and I'll be smiling if Bob Kraft is holding the SB Trophy and honoring his late wife. If the opposite happens, I'll be hitting the delete button on my DVR.

Not taking anything for granted but isn't it also quite possible we'll be back again next year too?
