Re: Victor Cruz disses Patriots D-backs--All of them
Following the Patriots is like the movie Groundhog Day.
For the last three months there is all this commentary on how the next opponent's quarterbacks and receivers are going to rip them to shreds and the Pats will lose because (a) the Pats defense is so bad, (b) the opponents receivers are so good, and (c) the opponents defense is so good - and then they go and play the game and the Pats win. The next week, the same exact exercise with the same reasons, just new names for the opponent - and the same exact results.
For example, before the last game all I heard was: Pats have nobody to cover the Ravens receivers. Ravens won't give Brady time to throw. Pats won't be able to stop Ray Rice. Ravens won in the playoffs two years ago, therefore they'll win again. Hmmm, sounds pretty much like what we've been hearing all this week, doesn't it?
Previous game: Pats have nobody that can cover Demaryius Thomas. Von Miller and Elvis Dumervil won't give Brady any time to throw. Pats defense won't be able to stop the Broncos running game. Basically the same thing that was said a week later about the Ravens; just different names.
For a guy that was held to two receptions for 28 yards against a pretty mediocre Atlanta pass defense two weeks ago, Cruz is coming across as being way overconfident. I would suggest he act like he's been there before, but perhaps that is part of Cruz' problem - he hasn't.
