I think it's fair. He was getting a lot of press in the earlier part of the season but has been overlooked since people started realizing how good the Tight Ends were, I think the fact that the first group of people didnt get the hint, shows how easy it is to overlook him. Nonetheless, I like that he gets overlooked

If welker has a huge game, Brady will be the MVP imo

I guess you are a Pats fan. Jumped the gun when I saw your post count.

I think Wes goes for 150 plus. But no more talk, don't want to jinx it. I'm just going on my gut like everyone else, my gut and the matchup. Despite the way Brady has played against the Giants, they still have been burned by Welker. He is the best non-QB offensive player on the field for either team, bar none. But have fun hearing seeing the special programs about Nicks and Cruz all week. After all, they are about 75% as good as Wes on their best days.

Care to elaborate on this though?

Welker has played 5 playoff games and averaged only 64 yards per game. Branch has "come up huge" in the playoffs moreso than Welker has.

If we were to learn that Wes Welker was unable to play in the Supe, an icy chill would pass through me. No matter how many all star tight ends we can put out there, Wes the Great is and always is our Ace in the hole when it comes to any competitive game.

I thought for sure it was gonna be Eli Manning, meaning he was gonna have to blow the game for us to win, therefor being "our" MVP of the game.

Hokey as the OP was I agree that Welker is going to be huge in the Bowl. The TE's are getting so much attention and have been so dominant lately that the Giants are going to have to pay a ton of attention to them, Welker is going to benefit from this and Brady getting rid of the ball quickly.

I'd have to say... "a-sfinkteah-sez-whut"

We have 3 guys on offense near the top if not the top guy at the position.
Defensively we have Vince and Albert Haynseworth...oops strike that last name, his team went 0-8 or 9 after we dumped him.

I just want to win, win big, win ugly, win so the NY fans are crying foul by the refs? But, I would prefer an offensive domination where we will by 3 touchdowns. Maybe it can be a birthday wish.

A lot of people forget Welker had 11 receptions in his last Super Bowl appearance, tying Rice, Dan Ross and Deion for the record.
