If we're going to implement more no-huddle, then Vereen would not even smell the bench, let alone the turf. Depth chart now is Woody, Benny, Ridley, Faulk.

Kinda like ' why would you want Aaron Hernandez to line up in the backfield and take a handoff and run like a running back?'

You mean like that?

Umm, thats a little different. And the Pats had done this earlier in the season if I'm not mistaken. Aaron atleast plays, Vereen played once, twice? Then we want to just toss him in against the Ravens in a playoff game?

Yeah, Denver had that Hernandez as a running back thing well scouted, we had done it so much.

Next?

You think this will actually be Brace's breakout game?

Vereen will be one of the inactives this week..along with Brace,McDonald,Williams,Jones,Mallett,Guyton. Assumes everyone else on roster is GTG and close to 100%.

I just don't think there's such a thing as a "featured back" in the Pats game plan these days. All situational, taking advantage of the varied skill sets and situations.

I'm in the Woodhead camp. The past couple of weeks he's seemed to have his spring back, and his speed and receiver skills look a lot more attractive against Baltimore than BJGE. Yes, Vereen theoretically has those talents too, but next year for him.

With the Patriots saving both Vereen and Ocho for the playoffs, it's amazing that they even won some regular season games.
