For those of us who didn't get to see the game live, how did Cannon look protecting TFB?
It sounds like "he did good."

After Manikins goes down with a knee injury on the 1st quarter, the OL goes Solder, Thomas, Connolly, Waters, Cannon. Pretty rough in the 2nd quarter as Brady faced consistent pressure, but after half they settle down, provide very good protection and establish the run with Ridley. A few breakdowns but pretty solid especially on the outside with Cannon and Solder as Wake is a nonfactor in the 2nd half. With Connolly getting his first start in over a month and Cannon and Thomas seeing their first extended action of their careers, and Solder going the distance at LT, I'd give them all game balls.
Those who thought that Cannon's best position in the prose would be as an OG weren't wrong. As an emergency 3rd string injury replacement at OT, he did a stand out job.....in the 2nd half.
Remember its like September for this kid. His future is all in front of him

Ken - I think that he played well in the 1st half except on a couple of plays. But, you are correct, his best position is going to be OG.
As usual, they used a "3rd tackle" alot, but he was left on an island (against Wake) for a good percentage of the plays. Like many are saying, they improved drastically in the 2nd half. Overall, I would say the O-line today was average for an NFL O-line; which, considering the circumstances, was an A+ in my opinion. I mean, Waters was the only original season starter for most of the game.
For awhile there in the 1st half, I had a flashback to the '07 SB with the way the O-line was diminished.
The bigger question was whose idea was it to put Mankins at LT? Dumb, DUmb,. Dumb makes you weaker in two postions..Then it is compunded when Mankins gets hurt.
Solder was fine at LT, he should have started the game thee and leave Mankins at LG.
