Default Goodell discusses classified military info with P. King; King publishes it

Too crazy to be real.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...bag/index.html

Especially after the recent border attack, publishing the force strength at an American outpost in Afghanistan is incredibly irresponsible.

Goodell must go.

And this guy runs the NFL? Wow, that is a scary thought. On the same note, King needs to go as well for publishing that. I'm pretty sure that Muslim terrorists don't read Peter King's articles and the one's that have went on to participate in suicide bomb activities, but still: what if King didn't work at Si?

I was expecting this thread to be an overreaction, but after reading the article and seeing they published the exact number of US troops stationed as sentries at an outpost -- after one was just attacked in the area -- is pretty mind-numbingly stupid.

My guess it that that info is removed from his article by the end of the day.

But that is three levels of stupidity at work:

1. Goodell for telling a media member
2. King for thinking it was ok to write
3. King's editors for thinking it is ok to post to the Internet

Pretty irresponsible all the way around ...

That's why I'm here. Who said anything was classified? Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, not their own facts.

How would Goodell know anything about that, anyways?
He's the NFL (crappy) commissioner not
military leadership.

The assumption is "because he was there", but when you go for a military tour, they show you want they want you to see. You aren't going to be privvy to classified information (which nobody can share with you if you don't have the proper clearance). This is people making ***** up and seeing if it sticks.

In all fairness, the military may not consider this as classified information and where and how many people are posted is easily observed by anyone with a high powered binoculars within a half mile away. It seems pretty bad though, but I have seen news reports on CNN or other news stations give out similiar information. It could be not a big thing.
