I think missing the 08 Season really hurt whatever chances he had at the overall win record. And even if he didn't, it still might have been a long shot. He's a little past halfway there, correct? Sadly I think he's a bit past the half-way point of his career as well.

What Brett Favre did is mostly just achieve volume records. So allot of it's not that impressive IMO. But that longevity in and of itself is a bit of something to stand in awe of. In such a rough sport it's hard to be an iron man for so long.

However, Brady WILL go out with the best winning PERCENTAGE. And that is an even greater accomplishment. It says he was better then everyone else, more then anyone else.

He is 68 away from the record, a little over 11 wins for 6 years does it.

According to Pro Football Reference, Brady's at 119 regular season wins after the Eagles game. That would give him 123 or 124 wins after this season, depending on your degree of optimism.

Let's say he gets to 124, that would leave him 62 behind Favre. He'd need to put together five more 12 win seasons and then pick up two more wins when he was 40.

I'm not sure you can predict five consecutive 12 win seasons for any QB, even Brady, and I'm also not sure that Brady will play that long, given the wear and tear on his body, the injuries he's already sustained and the injuries with which he is playing. The average retirement age (beginning of final season) for SB-era members of the HOF isn't 37.5 for nothing! And, except for Elway, who finished on a high with two consecutive SB wins, nearly all of them have diminishing results over their last couple of years.

So, no, I don't think he'll do it, but let's look at who are still ahead of him and where he stands in the top 10 all time:

Favre, 186--112, .624, 41 (age at start of final season)
Elway, 148--82, .643, 38
Marino, 147--93, .613, 38
P. Manning, 141--67, .678, 35 (start of this season)
Tarkenton, 124--109, .531, 38
Brady, 119--35, .773, 34 (start of this season)
Unitas, 118-64, .645, 40
Montana, 117--47, .713, 38
Bradshaw, 107--51, .677, 35
Moon, 102--101, 503, 44.

He'd "only" need 24 or 25 more wins to end up number two on the all time list after this season, which would seem realistic, barring a catastrophic injury.

I voted Yes, one thing is certain, he is going down as the winningest QB in history because his win PCT. is off the charts at .773, no other QB tops .700.

At this point Brady is headed to GOAT if he maintains anywhere near his current pace, and one more ring would seal it.
There have been dozens of GOAT threads out here and the consensus usually is that he needs the fourth ring to claim GOAT, when Joe has four SB's and Starr won five NFL championships. That's not a universally held view, but I think it's fair to say it's the general consensus.

I think the one extra ring will clinch it for Brady as GOAT. He has or will surpass Montana's career numbers in just about every category.

I don't disagree that the fourth ring is really important, and i think he will get it, but if he doesn't and ends up with more wins than any QB as swell as the best winning percentage of all time then it is going to be quite a debate. If he gets #4 then I don't see how he doesn't end up GOAT given where he is in terms of the other categories and where he will likely end up.

5 more seasons of 12-13 win football will get him there. That's a lot of winning, but assuming that the Pats have some good defensive drafts coming up, it seems doable.

Don't worry Brett, he'll never touch your interception record.

He will end his career with between 30-50 more wins at the minimum than Montana, who is probably the only other QB in the debate for GOAT (PM is probably the GOAT of the regular season, by quite a bit, but being .500 with 1 ring in the big game really hurts him), even without matching Montana's rings I think Brady will go down as the GOAT and he still probably has 4 or 5 more shots at another SB counting this season. He will not come close to Favre's win record though.

By the time Brady is 38 he'll have roughly:
54,000 yards (assuming 4k/season, that doesn't seem hard to imagine at the pace he's been going since 2007)
400 Touchdowns (assuming about 25 a year, that might be a low estimate)
145 INT's (assuming about 10)

He will absolutely crush every stat Montana has with about the same number of games played (Montana missed a lot of time over his career with injuries and an illness, and of course that pesky Steve Young character).
