The second Jets TD drive when they went back to the soft vanilla zone I was screaming at my TV, NOOOOOOOO. All the ex-Patriot analysts that have been clamoring for them to be more aggressive are correct. If you're going to fail go out swinging not whimpering.
When Collinsworth said McKnight is dropping back to receive the punt I called fumble. It's one thing doing that to spark your team with a Darrelle Green who you normally save from those duties not to wear him out but McKnight is unproven in punt returns even though he's great in kick off returns. You put a guy in a spot where he's going to instinctively try to do too much.
Carter, Anderson and Waters are epic wins. Haynesworth an epic fail. If Chad can just give us 4 catches for 60 yards every week going forward all is forgiven and I'll happily put him in the win column.
I liked the way the refs called the game for the most part. A bunch of times I wanted holding on Revis (Welker) or Mangold (Wilfork). However they didn't call the ticky tack stuff on the Pats either. Aarington was given the same latitude Revis was which is all you can ask for. The unnecessary roughness on Mouldin was a bad call IMO but was bang-bang so I'm not upset about it either.
The seeds today would be Houston, Pitt, NE, Oak, Balt and Cincy. Baltimore wins vs Cincy and they are the one seed however. I'd rather have Cincy win to stay ahead of the Jets and keep them home and avoid having a scenario where we play @ Baltimore.
White and Ninkovich laying out Keller before Ninkovich had the pick 6 in front of Captain Classy was awesome. The more physical team wins. The Edelman hit on Captain Classy was also a thing of beauty.
Let's hope with the short week and physical game that the Broncos can beat them and knock them back to 500.
Draft fail: The Browns got the Jets' first- and second-round picks in this year's draft, plus three players off the Jets' roster -- defensive end Kenyon Coleman, quarterback Brett Ratliff and defensive back Abram Elam.
That was the price for Sanchez. They could have stayed put and had Freeman who once you factor in talent level surrounding is just as good. For every trade up where you bag a Revis there's a Sanchez and a Dwayne Robertson that people forget about.

There's only two conclusions for Patriots fans on rookies. They are either a bust or being fitted for their bust in Canton.

I think O'Brien still calls in plays in a no huddle. The play selection is usually limited though. Brady also may have more latitude to audible.
I can't find confirmation of this quickly, but I'm fairly sure that if you don't have a huddle, you're not allowed to use the radio. Doesn't prevent signals, but no radio.

That's because the defense we saw yesterday played mostly man coverage with at least one deep safety most of the time and didn't just sit back in the zone while blitzing the ILB's far too often. The secondary has finally gotten used to man coverage and having a safety hover over the top has greatly helped out McCourty and the rest of the CB's. Not to mention, we were getting pressure with a four to five man rush a lot of the game.
Absolutely
Houston has the better offensive line and running game.
Is it just me or does Sanchez look a bust as an NFL QB?
I feel like Im watching a high school QB the way he jumps around and looks jittery and nervous. And, its every game, not just vs NE. Hes in his 3rd year and he still didnt know to let the play clock wind down before calling TO. Calling the TO there was dumb in the first place. He is still completing around 50% of his passes last night. Still locking on to his intended target - Ninko INT.
Again, there were extra NE blitzers on one play at the LOS and Sanchez never looked that way just like the Ravens game when Ed Reed Safety blitzed him. Sanchez never noticed he was there either.
Me thinks the Jets dont want to admit that they screwed up another top 10 pick. The fans certainly dont.
Peyton and colts run a offence where the players play every down . same formation and each running some different pattern. To run it you need really good RB ,2 WR and 1 TE a reason the last few yrs he struggles when the quality of them go down. also same goes of OL. we do not build a top heavy team where the top guys are elite to play such. we spend our to build a 53 man team. just a different team building method.
I don't know if it's a good idea to run a no-huddle all the time, I'm sure there are some downsides to it, but what I've noticed is that Brady plays better when we are running a no-huddle. Even our running game excels in a hurry-up offense. To me, our biggest asset is Brady. Why not put him in a position where he is most comfortable?

Not true. The Coach to QB communication is allowed on every offensive play. They turn it off based on the play clock, not when they break the huddle or when they line up. I think it is at the 15 second mark of the play clock, they shut it off.
BTW, that is an added benefit of a no huddle. That means it gives the coaches on the sidelines to give Brady any insight on defensive formations because the opposing defense will be in their formation for a bit before the cut off. When a team huddles, the defense might not be lined up prior to the communication cut off.

He's not a bust, but he is not anything more than average. He is a game manager. He cannot carry the offense. He can be stellar on a drive or two a game, but they need to reel him in most of the game. He could never do what Brady did last night. Not even close.
1.) We have spent the last few weeks focusing on personnel mistakes by Belichick. Time to celebrate the home runs! Andre Carter has been a huge pick up for the Pats. He will be the first double digit sack guy since TBC in 2009 and probably the first one who played like a a double digit sack guy since Vrabel (TBC got half his sacks against a bad Bills team). Brian Waters is also one of the best free agent pick ups this season. Mark Anderson has also been a very good pick up.
For all the crying we hear about the pass rush, Carter is on pace to best all but Tippett in franchise single season sack total. 4th in the NFL.
