Default the Ref's favor the Steelers? (merged)

Did anyone notice the terrible nocalls from the refs? Blantant Holding on almost every steelers snap on our d-lineman. The horsecolar tackle on grok. Polamolu tackling welker by the neck. Polomolu swatting the ball at the end right in front of the ref. The pats played a poor game and deserved to lose. But they seemed to get a lot of help. (Sorry in advance for my poor spelling.)

Poor officiating has pretty much been the story of the 2011 season across the NFL. Is it a kick in the pants that there was a penalty or two that should of been called that might of helped with a possible comeback? Yes. At this point, I'd love to see a blatantly bad or non-call be made that costs a team an important game, like a playoff one for there to be a real change with officiating in the NFL.

EDIT-I think the pic used here in the article summed yesterday up pretty well:

This offseason, it's almost like Belichick is saying, "I'm never going to let that happen again."

I'm with you 100% on the bad refs. There was way too much crap allowed and BTW, if the Hairboy knocks the ball into the endzone and the Steelers player fails to secure the ball while he is still in play, why the hell is it a safety?

I don't expect the refs to catch everything and wouldn't want to watch a game with calls all the time, but if you call the blatant holds and facemasks at the start of the game, you are 90% of the way towards calling a decent game.

As soon as I saw that Carey was the ref I knew it would be a long day for our D line. I don't know if he does it with everyone but he never seems to call holding when our D line is getting choked, see Superbowl 42.

There were bad calls and non-calls, but you can say that about most games. I will not blame a loss on bad calls. That is the Jets fans' mentality. If the Pats played good enough yesterday, they would have overcome any bad calls.

I have to say the Carey crew is the worst. I am pretty sure they called the Jets/Chargers game last week and that game was an unmitigated disaster from an officiating standpoint.

I think the Pats benefitted from some bad calls/non-calls as they were definitely on the bad side of those bad calls/non-calls. So I don't blame the officiating crew for the loss, but this crew is just painful to watch.

Absolutely. Not the reason we lost at all, I just hate the sight of Carey because of SB 42 between the free timeout for the Giants and the non holding calls on the Tyree play. I'll never consider him a good ref after that.

Whatever, the officiating didn't cost us the game. It was pretty bad though.
