Zoltan isn't on the Hot Seat is he??? ( I hope not)
When a player goes down, whether it be a punter, kicker or any other position, you need to be prepared. You don't want to start your search during the week, sign them late in the week and throw them in the game on 2 days notice. It's just like last year. We brought Shayne Graham and another kicker in for a workout even though we had no problem at the position. A month later Ghost goes down on a Sunday. Tuesday we had Graham signed, giving him all week to get familiar with the players he'd be working with.

I'd like to know the ratio of players brought in for a workout versus the number of those players that actually play a single down for the Pats at some time that season. One in five, one in ten, one in twenty? I don't know why so many still assume that a workout means the team is going to sign that player, and that they are about to cut, trade or IR the starter.

Right on. Definitely less than one in ten. Probably less than one in 20.

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.
This is known as "bad luck." RAH
