The with king is he has been covering football so long you would think he would have a better touch on reality of the sport...
but it was clear even in the first few weeks following the Pats vJets back in september that he was just going to take his shots at us and ignore the truth because he and other media members finally got to stick it to BB for not kissing their ass in press confrences and interviews.
What really gets me is that here we are 8-9 months later and he still is taking his shots....what an ahole

That's because Pompous Peter: King of the Mediots has not gotten his calls to Foxborough returned in 8-9 months.
Gotta tell you I have even more respect for Kraft, Pioli and especially Belichick over their absolute refusal to grovel on
bended knee to Mediot nation. I absolutely LOVE IT!!!!!!
And PP says the SB wins are tainted??
With who?? Him and his fellow Mediots? Who cares!!
With other fans?? They'd hire Bill Belichick in a minute.
You can feel the frustration within mediot nation because BB's middle finger is STILL fully extended in their direction.
I'm loving it!!!!
Once again King shows he's a hypocrite. He accepts Tomase's explanation but not Belichick's. He accepts Tomase's apology as is but goes so far as to write a column on How Belichick should have apologized. From day one King has acted as if the taping of signals offended him personally, but when a fellow writer commits one of the most egregious acts he can, he does not consider his profession "tainted", accepts the "apology", and advises fans to forgive and forget, move on and drop the subject.
I guess why these particular comments got on my nerves is because those comments attack Pats fans as unreasonable. It assumes that the only alternative that Pats fans see for Tomase is that he kill himself. Besides being totally outrageous and disgusting, its incredibly insulting.
I think King, Ryan, Mazz and their ilk are stunned, just stunned, that Pats fans, and most fans in general, just don't agree with their indignation over what the Pats did. Most reasonable people, once presented the facts, realize this is a minor rule violation and not really a big deal. Most people are ready to move on, and I think that is what kills them most. The more people realize there is nothing to this story, the more those in the media who made a huge stink about it look like A$$es, and scream louder that we should make a huge stink about it.
That's why I think King is taking pot shots at Pats fans now....

And they are laughing at us all the way to the bank.....
ESPN, Herald, Globe all of them...they have learned that they can take their shots and then sit back and laugh at the response.
We have become predictable - they sling mud, we write hundreds of comments and emails, fill talk shows up with calls and we watch all their shows. Their papers ell, their websites gets more hits than ever, their ratings rise and rise and rise. Their advertisers buy more time because they now have the numbers.
They get, exactly what they want.....us.
The only way to get even is put them all on ignore. Support only the Patriot website, and a precious few writers that have been fair and balanced - (Reiss, Young, etc). Get your NFL news from NFL Channel and nfl.com. Do not support the advertisers of the idiots.
At some point, they will get that message.

Did you hear Squeak Mazz yesterday? He wasn't laughing at the callers or the 2,000 emails he received. He was backpeddling.
Some Pats fans underestimate how paper thin the mediots skin is.
They hear us (we now have a voice with the internet, talk radio etc.) and they don't like it.

Sure, it hurts them a little bit when their ass is on the firing line, but as Peter King just alluded to, a taste of their own medicine won't kill them.
A week later a little bad publicity translates into a fuller wallet, which mitigates the hurt completely.

He took his $75.hour paycheck - cashed it and certainly enjoyed messing with us fat, patriot jersey fat slob fans.
Then, his newspaper thanked him for following orders....
Yes. we do have a voice and we can spread the Patriot news much better than they can WITHOUT them.
Put them on ignore and let's see if we cannot persuade the Patriots to directly provide our fan group some news - now there's a thought.
Anybody know Stacey James??

I used to enjoy Peter King because I think he is a good writer and generally has a good perspective on things....then spygate happened and everything changed. Today he answers emails:
"Peter, you are my favorite NFL writer but I am sad to see that even you have buried the lead from Spygate and missed the central lesson -- the NFL's selective transparency. -- commissioner Roger Goodell has effectively told the media, the fans and congress that the NFL retains the right to act as its own judge and jury regardless of the size and potential impact of the scandal. And the vast majority of fans and media have seemingly accepted this remarkable and paradoxical act of executive entitlement."
Except maybe if the sports mediots had a judge and jury commisioner with even selective transparency LIKE THE NFL AND ALL PROFESSIONAL LEAGUES HAVE HISTORICALLY HAD he could dock a writer who cheats the public his beat assignment and fine him and his editors each 10% of their seasons salary. And order a tabloid publisher like the Herald who wants access to cover the sport to endow a chair in ethics is sports journalism at some god forsaken entity like Tufts or deal with having their entire football staff's credentials pulled for a season...presently as Jim Nantz lamented recently, the media is beyond reproach unless you choose to sue them.
"GREAT POINT ABOUT THE STEALING OF SIGNALS. From Ryan Eads, of Champaign, Ill: I work in IT security. Wireless communication technology has a legacy of insecurity. I am sure that there are unscrupulous teams with tech-savvy staff who will take advantage of this vulnerability."
No kidding, Ryan. There were unscrupulous teams with tech savvy staff stealing the late Paul Brown's coach to QB signals the first year they were instituted... The good news is thanks to the Patriots Goodell is now going to have all 32 teams sign a waiver stipulating they are not violating any rule in any way. The next poor bastard he catches will probably be guillotined. The bad news is it likely won't be anyone from the Patriots.
"One interesting aspect of Spygate that seems to be glossed over, but fortunately you touch on it, is the way it taints the game. Reading the quotes from Jay Cutler and Trent Dilfer, it seems to me that they might be a little out of touch with the fans."
Thank god for small blessings, Thad...
I asked Peter a question too. I challenged him to run the Constitution and By-laws, Game Day Operations Manuel and Ray Anderson's memo past a good attorney and get back to me about his interpretation of what could be gotten away with pre and post 2006, in like an actual court of law...
I guess he had too many other good questions to answer.
