Call me stupid or naive, but the timing becomes VERY suspicious to me because of the fact that this was an OLD piece of information and he and the rest of the media had plenty of time to make a decision about coming out with a story on it or not...unless that piece is part of the puzzle that is still missing and the Herald/Tomasse won't let it out.

What started the whole Spygate saga? Remember? It was a game between the Patriots and the Jets, with the latter taking action to prevent the former from taping defensive signals along the sidelines at Giants Stadium.
Now, what motivated that action? I don't think it was a result of Eric Mangini's sense of justice, fair play, and sportsmanship. What was it all about? I think you'll find the history stretches back more than one season.
Okay, now fast forward. The Pats are on the cusp of a perfect season, capped by a Super Bowl. What better time to crank up the nasty rumor mill one last time.
Who was Tomase's source? If it wasn't Walsh, but it was somebody Tomase trusted, then could it have been a former member of New England's coaching staff?
