Didn't take long for the team to fill the jersey #59 worn by Rosevelt Colvin over the past few years - Hobson must wear #59 instead of his #54 with Bruschi still around.

Say an official goodbye to Colvin just in case you were thinking he might end back up here at Vet Minimum.

I'll bet Colvin is saying right now: "Damnit! They gave #59 to Hobson. This means I can never come back!"

On a side note, 59 is an awesome number for a LB jersey.

I like #59 myself - But I prefer him to play a little OLB every once in a while with that number

- It will just look right since Colvin is gone

That definately means they're drafting Keith Rivers to allow him to hold on to #55

Do you really think Colvin will suddenly come back healthy and change his jersey number the same year he was cut?

I don't recall that ever happening in NFL history

Looks like I'll get some more use out of my Katzenmoyer/Colvin jersey.
Of course, it's gonna be a bummer for Seward, as I believe he also wears #59.

Never really thought he was coming back, but the finality is still kind of sad.

Still, I think we're in a good place going into the draft, and Colvin would have been more of a luxury than a need at this point.

I am sure if there was ever mutual interest for Colvin to come back, something can be worked out. Players have been known to be be given temporary jersey numbers. Didn't Randy Moss have a different number all through training camp?

I doubt that Colvin will be back, but Hobson getting his number means very little to me to tell me that the Pats have shut that door forever.

Moss had #11 throughout training camp. It's the number he wears in Madden (which was put out before he was issued #81).

Moss wore 6 not 11.
