Also, to expand on a few points.
All the scoring drives were 4 minutes or less. If a team produces 38 points and 600+ yards of offense, this would be more associated 38-48 minutes TOP vs 28 minutes.
Our "prevent" does have serious issues....on both sides of the ball. It made the Pittsburgh game closer than need be ( I hear it here) and it almost cost us the game in San Diego last year.
However, some blame needs to go to the offense. Maybe this is where Ridley needs to make his presense. We have produced clock killing drives (Cincy last year/ SD 2007) so it's not a foreign concept.
Drive analysis within the context of "situational football" is the best method of defensive evaluation.
