Sorry you could not afford to attend anymore, I do realize you are a big fan. We are talking entertainment here though - not life, death or anything closely associated with ones quality of life. I do not blame any business for trying to maximize their revenues and profit. That is usually why most people go into business - unless it is a non profit venture, which the NFL certainly is not. If they happen to find they went to far or if things change down there, they can easily put through a correction. I doubt they will ever need to do that as long as the NFL does not blow itself up with player / owner issues.
I for one am looking forward to all that the new Patriot Place has to offer. I think a Patriots Hall of Fame will be awesome. I think the CBS one of a kind TV themed restaurant may be outstanding. I think the night clubs and other restaurants there will bring some much needed nightlife to a rather boring area. I see some pretty cool stores there, unlike any others around and some familiar ones that I look forward to visiting. The new Pro shop promises to be a mecca for all Patriots fans in seek of shirts, hats, novelties, footballs and memorabilia of all kinds.
I tend to take a positive attitude toward Patriot Place with the new and different ideas, concepts etc., but that's just me I guess, one that gets excited over new things and gives them a chance.
Yes sir, I do support Mr. Kraft and no I am not employed by him nor do I stand to make anything off of any of his ventures. Since the day he bought the team he has done nothing but what he said he would do - bring us all a team we could be proud of that will contend for a championship year in and year out. What more could any Patriot fan one ask for??
Do you live close to Foxboro? I can't name a season ticket holder that I know that is happy with a Mall being built.

Kraft is/was a fan and I think he does understand some of our needs. That doesn't mean his needs dont out weigh our needs. Jeez guys we are in a capitalistic society here and he has every right to charge what ever his demands allow. I think the Krafts and the NFL are very charitable, more so than most cash cow businesses in this country and I think that is all we can really ask for.
anyone see the price of a box of cereal these days. How can Kellogs get away with that, it is not possibe for a family to bye Kellogs cereal for their kids to eat every mourning, they have to get generic cereal.
Seriously? You're comparing the cost of a box of cereals to the cost of a Patriots ticket? Who's out of touch here?
Tell me, when you eat a bowl of cereal, do you pay an additional $1 to rent the bowl you eat it out of?

Last time I looked a box of cereal didn't cost $169.
Why are we upset? Are you for real? My tickets went from $125 to $169 per seat. Where are your seats?
I think I addressed my thoughts above:

Do you expect they shoudl hold prices low so that you can afford to keep on going when they have a waiting list of 50,000?? Sorry, I do not know what business you are in, where I work it is all about maximizing profits so that our business can be more productive.

Let's see. Hold prices low. Correct, your statement??? How about we already had the highest ticket prices and they went to WHAT???
How dare you degrade the people that supported this team through thick and thin while you sat at home. Are you even a season ticket holder???
So, $600 to go to a football game is reasonable??? Are you out of your MIND???

Be quiet. Very quiet. You do not have a clue.
Don't tell me to be quiet and do not even think of telling me who has supported this team through thick and thin.
Excuse me, I have been a season ticket holder since, are you ready, consecutively since 1971 and 4 out of 6 years before that. I think I can comment as loud and long as I like as far as being a season ticket holder.
And, you never addressed the point I made, this is not life & death, it is entertainment. Why in the world would the Patriots & the NFL not want to make money and run a profitable business??
Look, I am not thrilled about having to pony up serious dough - I own six freaking seats here and of course it hurts, but I understand it as it is simply the way things are now when it comes to the luxury / entertainment industry. What is it about the business part of the game, or business in general, that you do not understand?? It really is a simple as supply and demand. They sell out every single game and have a waiting list of 50,000. Why not price their very best seats (lowers at $169, like I have) where the have? I want them to continue to raise the kind of revenue needed to keep supplying a first class product that competes for championships and being profitable along the way. What in the world is wrong with that business model?
Take a good look at where the prices will soon be in the new facilities in Dallas & New York, see your future there.

OK, I have been a season ticket holder since the mid-70's as well. So, bugger off already.
Open your mind already. No normal family can go to a football game that costs $600. GET IT???
Here is what it gets down to. Only the rich or corporation tickets go to a game. If that is OK with you fine. To me, it flat out stinks. And most of the other teams do not face this issue. Greed. Pure and simple. And yes, I CAN afford to renew my tickets. That is NOT the point.
Call a spade a spade already.
Football only a few years ago was the last sport for the fans. That is soon going away. OK, so be it. I will move on.
It stinks for the youth of our country. More than stinks.
Sitting in front of a TV. Wow. Hey son, come watch a game on TV. Eat some popcorn.

Get real bud.
You and fgssand are both right, you both make good points to varying degrees. But what I don't agree with is this attitude of "quitting" in bitterness over the price increase. I've had season tickets since 1994 and see my "hobby" going up in cost by around $600. OK, that's $600 I'll have to figure out another way to compensate for over the course of a year. I'm not going to throw my tickets away in a snit over it. For those with multiple seats feeling the pinch, there are creative options to consider, such as sharing your seats with others. Also, remember that if you filed your taxes this year, you're getting a $600 check from Uncle Sam's economic stimulus package. That should ease some of the pain.
