I'm assuming this potential ban could be more for the "clean cut" look to get away from the NFL having a "league of thugs." Too many, long dreads gives the appearance of gangster and thugs. In reality, I think this would be a petty ban. Ban criminals with records, IMO, but banning long hair and dreads, I'm speechless.

Ya know,

If they really wanted to ban something because of a risk of injury, I'd say ban those huge earrings some guys are wearing. That's a really good way to get a chunk of your ear torn off or ripped open if your helmet gets twisted and or yanked off. I've seen it happen before and it's not pretty at all. The guy needed quite a few stitches to close it up. Bled like a stuck pig, too, but then all head wounds do.

Respects,

Of all the issues the league needs to tackle, this is the one that they seem to be strongest against.

Why not fix the stupid pass interference rule where games are getting affected by ticky-tack and phantom calls allowing for offenses to get 40-50 yards gains and/or placed on the one yard line? That is far more important to the game than whether someone's hair is covering their name on their jerseys.

What about religious reasons for wearing hair long?

From Rastas, Sikhs, Samoans or Native Americans?

You think a Sikh guy could fit his hair inside his helmet??? No way!

For that matter, what about a Hasidic Jew? Or an Amish kid?

Exactly! Let the NFL focus on nonsense like this rather than

trying to figure out new ways to screw the Patriots.

Not so fast there.

I personally believe this is a direct attack on Mr. Maroney.

Roger Goodell is made of glass.

I'm surprised the league waited so long to consider doing something about it.
I'm with you on this ... I think it looks like crap also ... tuck it in or cut it.
