Default Pats will be in a no win situation...

Well what ever happens with Moss I think there will be in a no win situation.

1 If Moss signs elsewhere, media , fans will be second guessing how come they did not franchise him, why didnt they step up and pay him.. The team is on the decline...

2 If he does sign.. They drive by media will be saying, they got scared, overpayed, well they payed him but who is going to play defense, blah blah blah..

Well we all know as fans, that Moss is better off with Brady.. Losing Stallworth, and no word on Gaffney is a little concerning without Moss.. But if the Pats decide they gave them the best offer ,all we could do is second guess and move on.. I just dont want a bunch of shoemakers as wr.. Moss belongs in NE and when its all said and done, I still believe he will be..

Oh good, another thread about Randy Moss. We haven't had a new Moss thread for a couple of minutes.

This is not a no win situation.

The Patriots can either sign Moss or fix the WR spot by other methods. Both those have potential to be "wins." The only way they are going to "lose" is if it ends up like 2006 when there was no plan B for the Branch situation and they end up with a bunch of #3 and 4 WRs starting.

What does the media reaction have to do with it anyway? Since when does Mike Felger determine when something is a no win situation for the NE Patriots?

its the elephant in the room that wont go away until Moss is signed with us, packers, cowboys or whoever... Its a topic right now, because nothing else is goin on , however we could start on how Jason Webster will be a great addition to our team

But it's the elephant that's been ridden about to death.

Sorry--nothing personal, but how many Moss threads do we need on the front page at one time?

Actually I don't buy that. Unless Moss gets about 15 million per, people will realize it was a move the Pats had to make, and if they had to go 2 or 3 mil more than they wanted, so be it. He means that much.

Meanwhile, the defense needs some bodies no matter if Moss gets signed or not.

the media is brutal on the pats, but i dont see them criticizing the pats for coughing up money for the moss.

he broke the friggin touchdown record.

i look at it as a win-win situation. whether we keep or lose moss, the FO know what they're doing. even in the branch fiasco we went deep in the playoffs.

In BB we Trust.

"No win" with the media is your point?

Who cares. If the Patriots decide Moss isn't worth to the team what it would cost to get him, then the only "win" or "no win" that I care about is the one on the field next year.

I think we've fallen way too hard in love with one player. Moss won't be nearly as good on some other team with some other QB, and he knows it. Whether that will make the difference in what he does is unknown, but I have no problem with the Patriots playing chicken on this one with him.

Before anyone criticizes anyone, shouldn't we wait to see what he does? If he signs a 3/30 deal somewhere else, that will stink. If he signs a 5/80 with 20 million guaranteed with someone else, what can you do? Move on.
