Any reason why Pats always play Giants in last preseason game?
Any reason why we always play the Giants in the 4th preseason game? Is there a story I am unaware of?

IIRC, it has something to do with the fact that neither team wants to travel very far that late in the preseason, so they've agreed to play each other every friggin' year for the last seven years. . . .

Makes sense, and they'd be the closest team... tied with the Jets, but I think they avoid divisional opponents in pre-season right? I can't recall any off the top of my head anyway.

That's how I saw it. NYG are the closest non-conference team. Here are the other matchups, and it is interesting to try and figure them all out:
DET @ BUF
IND @ CIN
BAL @ ATL
NYG @ NE
STL @ JAC
TB @ WAS
PHI @ NYJ
DAL @ MIA
KC @ GB
CLE @ CHI
HOU @ MIN
TEN @ NO
PIT @ CAR
DEN @ ARI
SF @ SD
OAK @ SEA

It would seem PIT should be playing ATL and BAL should be playing CAR, but maybe one is closer then the other when you take into consideration the curvature of the globe.
